I've taken it to five dock for a service and also some warranty issues.

Service was just the standard oil change at 1 year and no surprises. It was the standard price at $420.

Warranty service has been quite good. I didn't buy the car from them but they adjusted some seals and the dront doors to solve some wind noise issues and also replaced my rear door seal twice until It was satisfactory. All done for free and no fuss.

As for the rattle issue, they were also willing to put in writing that it was normal and would not damage the car nor void any future warranty issues. I think that was a great thing because it gives me some peace of mind. Getting this answer out of VAG Australia was impossible and painful.

Has anyone got the clip put in from Barloworld Five Dock?

Went Burwin Dealership and they have no stock either. As per them, VAG has order only 50 clips from German and will put me in the back order.

just got back from free (do nothing) 1500k service at paul wakeling cambelltown, where i test drove with mechanic who acknowledged acceleration rattle right away. Bottom line, anti rattle clip has been ordered and expected in a few weeks.

AWESOME!!! Just picked up the GTI after its 15K kms service. Clip fitted under warranty as per TPI. Hugh difference, most notably how smooth the power comes on and it has lost shuddering under acceleration also. Oh yeah, there is no noise now but I have Prodigy/Chemical Brothers/Pendulum loud enough anyway.

i can't read through 90 pages , so I'm goinnan be lazy and ask here.
it seems like the rattles has been spotted and it was a waste gate clip.
now, was that the rattle that people thought it was the door or realignment of the driver door?
are we talking about the same problem?

New ETA from my dealer is that the clips should arrive in one week. I want my dang clip.

I just sent in my car mentioning the TPI number to them when booking in the car for the fix. They looked up that number and ordered the clips in. They told me it should take about 10 working days for the clips to come and will contact me to bring in my car again to get them fitted in. I had to tell a little lie saying that VW Australia told me to reference the TPI number when booking in my car when in actual fact they didn't. At the end of the day it got the ball rolling and that's what we want anyways.

can some tell me what variant of the EA888 engine the Mk6 GTi has? CCTA, CBFA, CCZA, or CAWB?
its normally shown on the build plate, or in the boot with the option codes sticker.
