MK6 GTI - Rattle upon acceleration - Resolved via TPI: 2021062/7

I spoke with my dealer and they were not aware of the VWA fix. They have spoken to Skoda Australia who will look into it, but he said that Skoda had not heard of it.

He did say however that until Skoda give authorisation they (the dealer) would advise against fitting it (even if I buy it), as it could void the warranty. Fingers crossed Skoda comes to the party.

Im fitting one to a skoda under authorisation from skoda tech support, which are the same people as vw tech. And it is gettin replaced under warranty.

So there is hope for the skoda people

I am about to email Brisbane prestige (Adrian) with the information Corey provided yesterday. I spoke to him yesterday and he told me he was in contact with skoda aus for another customer. They have got to play ball. They are the same company effectively.

i've asked my skoda dealer (lennock), yesterday, and he is in talks with skoda aus techos in regards to what they can do for us.
i' passed on the pics along with the TPI num - thanks to corey. this has also been forwarded on to the skoda product marketting manager, who has acknowledged it. i have the email.
hopefully i'll hear some good news in the near future

Im headed to Barloworld Glen Waverley this morning to go for a drive with one of the service department staff.
I have the car booked in for Monday to be repaired. Heres hoping they have stock of the clip, or ill need to wait.

Great news. Once you get it done can you post details of where this warranty work was completed?

I just called Barloworld Mascot to try and book in to get this fixed. They're booked pretty solid - earliest i could get was 14th Sept!

I explained the situation, she seemed to know what i was talkin about, and said it would be covered under warranty.

I've just gone on a drive with a tech from Chatswood Classic Cars VW, and they are aware of the fix, but advise no clips in stock for at least 4 weeks at best.

I just came from VW Glen Waverley to take a tech for a test drive. He heard the rattle. They have no clips in stock, apparently a 3 - 4 week wait from Germany.

So my GTI is booked in for the 22nd of September.

The tech I had was very interested as to how I knew about the fix, I informed him about the 70 page thread right here and told him there were many others exactly the same online. He was kind of surprised. He also wanted to know why I was asked to come down for a test drive when it's already a known issue? Seems interesting...

Am about to send my dealer an email regarding organising the fix for our Tiguan. I'm guessing the clip part number will be the same as the one for the Golf? just in case they are unaware of it.

Thanks Corey, sorry for my ignorance but what does TPI mean? Thought i may aswell include the #'s you listed in my email.
