Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Sounds similar to the guys that work in the service department at Essendon.
Seems to be a severe lack of customer service skills in there places.

    • Hey, azzdat. Try Bayford at Camberwell - not too far from Ringwood & they were well aware of this issue 4 years ago when they fixed mine through warranty. Pleasant to deal with as well...

I bought the clip from aliexpress for around usd $17 delivered.
        That's a bargain, I think I paid around $60 from the dealership.
Still it was $60 well spent not having to listen to that rattle!

There quote to fix was to replace all the taillight assemblies complete. Lucky she rang me ..
          I fixed with a $2 globe.

          • Reminds me of the time a dealership tried to tell me that my Polo needed the injectors and inlet manifold cleaned which would have cost several hunderd dollars. The car had 2800km on it at the time...

            • I had a pleasant experience with Essedon dealer recently.

Bought a Golf MK6 MY11 for my daughter a couple of months ago and noticed that the car shudder at take off. Contacted Essedon dealer as the car was purchased and serviced by them from the previous owner. After confirming the car details, the car was recalled in July 2013, I was advised that there will be a $150 diagnositc fee but will be waved if it's proven the issue is related to the clutch as it's still cover under the 2 years part & labour warranty.

Dropped the car off on Monday (they advised that it will take 2 days if the clutch need replacecment) and a free loan car was provided. received a phone call from Jarrod on Monday aftertoon and was advised that both the parts (clutch essembly) and labour will be covered under warranty, and the car will be ready for pickup on Tuesday. They actualy washed and vaccum the which I wasn't expected.
