  • It's still a console though. You want realism, check out iRacing iRacing.com | The Premier Online Sim Racing Game

    • I've got iRacing and a bunch of other sims. iR just doesn't do it for me - physics are great, but I'm not going to pay for content AND a subscription, one or the other. I've done the 3 for 1 deal a couple of times, and I end up being too busy to get my monies worth. I'm in the beta for C.A.R.S. which is looking good as well. Got a mini-tournament in RACE07 scheduled for this Sunday evening with some friends from the UK as well.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

My gf got me the G27 for my ps3... I didn't care much for wheels playing games..but jeezus they are realistic.. makes the game so much better! and feels like "the real thing" ... playstation wheels have come a long way lol .. i just need a "play seat" for it now..

        • Yeah I know - Test Drive Unlimited was the game that made me get the G25 (which was the top wheel at the time). Now I'm interested in the Fanatec CSR Elite wheel, which according to reviews makes the G25 feel like a toy. Only problem is it costs more than what I recently spent on my Golf GTI wheel and pedal upgrades

            • It's the cost of epic power output. That 0.2sec gain down the 1/4m going from stage 1 to 2+ is HUGE.

              • The R is still amazing to drive every waking moment

Gaulston Gorge in full sports mode still causes me to sweat

                That is all

I knew some one that had this same problem, he then got some advice and now when he starts to sweat he activates the A/C. Works a treat!

                    • The GalSton Gorge is amazing isnt it. The road and the hairpins are sooo tight. I didnt know it existed until earlier this year when i went through there in a little Audi A1 while doing a Berowa/Wisemans Ferry day drive with some friends.

Yeah but the problem is traffic, best time to hit it is 7 am on a weekend but you have to scare the cyclist who clog it up.. but from experience they hear you coming about 2 clicks away and bail

                          Or late at night.

Came back from Melbourne in the S3. Forgot the first left hander, hard on the brakes and made it around. Good fun.

I prefer Putty Road but Galston is damn good fun.

                          • Try the road between Pittwater and Akuna Bay entrance

Well known by the locals for one of the best stretches of twisties and great road surface.

                            McCarrs Creek Road

Old video but gives you an idea

                            • Good road that.

I do 30 seconds of good driving some afternoons - the road out from the Taronga Zoo ferry wharf is a cracker for a short distance.

And it's always good fun to be glared at by annoying mosman mothers.

                              • There are some similar roads to that here in Perth too, good fun on the way home

For what it's worth had a chance to try my P2 guage with launch control and 0-100 on a 100Kph highway yesterday, 5.5sec with 32 degree ambient temp! Stock with 20,000kms on the clock, it also sounds much throatier now too.
