Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        • Checkout the paint job on this R's Talladegas. Not my cup of tea but just thought I'd share.

            • I stopped past Berwick Volkswagen today to waste $75 on some rear floor mats and saw that they have Dean's Golf R on display (the one he used on the Targa Tasmania earlier this year). If you're in the area you may wish to check it out. I didn't take any photos, but I'm sure you all know what it looks like.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

I bought my car from there and the salesman mentioned the car at the time. Seem like a pretty good dealership.

                        • I was more surprised since it's a nice advertisement for Volkspower (as opposed to dealer servicing)

                          • I'm not really surprised.... Volkswagen have a long history of participating in motorsports. They've also got a long relationship with APR. Whilst we haven't really seen any VGA APR partnerships in this country, I was actually introduced to APR by it being mentioned to me by my dealer., the Scirocco 24 hour cars use some APR parts, VW of America commissioned APR to help build it's SEMA cars a few times (I believe that's where the first Stage III GTI came from), and there have been various countries which have released cars which come pre-flashed with the APR ECU, including Singapore.

Volkswagen are also leading the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge in the "Street Tuner" class courtesy of APR America's efforts.

Good points, however if something breaks due to the extra horsepower created by APR tuning, would they still have warranty?

                              • It's been discussed in the Tuning and Performance forum on many occassions. The answer is no different to the warranty sitation if you change your stereo, or your suspension, or your whatever else on a car...
