Try parking your car facing a wall so you can see the headlights shining against the wall.. Then turn the wheel left and right and see if the headlights move... if they do, then they'll move when you turn corners...
I have a TTS and the headlights only turn when the car is moving, not when stationary. The best place to see if they work is driving in a car park, up and down the ramps where you need to turn the steering continuously and the walls are in close proximity.
My lights also move up and down and left to right when you turn them, kinda cool!

I have a STAR button and two others next to my Sunroof dial. In Europe that's some emergency button. When I press it it calls some weird number that doesn't work. Hopefully VW Aus will implement that button to call the VW assist.
It calls the USA VW Assist number from what I can tell
Thankfully it don't have the 0011 (1) ahead of it so it doesn't actually dial it!
I'm hoping it can be changed via VCDS or something.
I decided to shell out and buy one of these "Sprint Boosters". Ordered Sunday out of Hong Kong, received it yesterday, and installed the sucker today......!
For those of you who were skeptical, don't be.
They do make a substantial difference to that natural fly by wire accelerator pedal lag on the R....
It changes significantly the pedal travel and response if that makes sense!
It has 3 modes... Stock, Moderate and Aggressive. Simply put, it eliminates the delay at the depression of the pedal.
You have the newer version with modes, I have the older single mode SP on my Porsche, great little device, but pricey for what they are. Well done!
Correct, I believe it only works over 30km or something. At a standstill it won't steer the lights...
They also bend upwards when traveling faster than XXX km/h to help you "see further"! I recalled reading this somewhere in the manual.
Going to go for a weekend road trip to Mornington after work on 21st Jan. Hopefully I can fully test out the R!
My mates (135i, SLK350, RX8 & A5 2.0T) keep giving me sh#* about the R being a girly car...hopefully I can change their perception

Lol... one of your mates drives an RX8 and gives YOU sh#* for driving a girly car?!
Hahahahahahahahaaaahaaa heh
@stephen
I retrofitted the RNS510 and premium bluetooth in my car. I changed the microphone button on my steering wheel to enable voice-control, and then found that I preffered having it as mute button for the radio, so I changed it back via VCDS - I imagine it's basically the same proceedure in the Golf R.
Not a silly statement at all, although getting a softroader is not going to pull the babes like an R will at least you can tow the chick magnet
But if you're interested in the driving rather than the posing aspect of the R, then a Tiguan, even remapped, is going to be pretty underwhelming. To me a Toureg would be almost as unappealing.
I guess Rickardo wasn't really going to get a solution that suited his circumstance but his topic has been well and truly buried after being merged into this monster thread.

I implore you to find someone with a modified tiguan and drive it.
Cannot get over how many R owners rag on a Tiguan without even driving one, let alone a modified one.
Driving mine can be pretty dam satisfying, to the point where i actually find excuses to go out and drive it.
As pointed out by Brad, remapped it can tow the jetski, has the same 4mo system as the R and has the same peak power levels with a smoother and more responsive power curve.
The alternative is an Audi 8P S3

easily solved my good man. find 1/4 mile of road and 5 women. when you, the slk and 135 arrive almost at the same time, you should have about enough time for you to drive off with 3 comfortably seated ladies admiring your lovely interior (especially compared to the poverty pack 135) before the rx8 shows up. and if you think that sounds good, just wait till you tell them how much stuff you can bring back from ikea. girly car? damn right it is.

Lol your mates have no clue! The R won Top Gear's hot hatch of the year and has been driven by the THE MAN himself The Stig who was very impressed with it. Plus we all know how much Jeremy loves the GTI and most probably loves the R as well. Those guys have driven everything and I doubt they would call it girly in the slightest.
APR Stage 1 and then they can all suck on your exhaust fumes!

You don't even need an R to outdo the POS RX8 in the list. The mkV GTI will run rings around the RX8 (I know because I was considering the RX8 before I bought my GTI besides the RX8 drinks oil like we do water). And the SLK350 - now that is a girly/gay car. The 135i is heavy and clumsy in comparison to the R. The A5 is a family sedan - boring characterless looking car.

That's probably because of how they look. They are not a sports car, or a hot hatch. They are a soft roader like a RAV4 or Forester. Who cares if you can boost the forester, Ill take the Rex, thanks.
I don't deny though they might be a hella fun drive, and zippy with a tune. But they are what they are. But they arent an R!

My mum had an RX-8 (proof it's girly?) and it hardly drank any oil. My MkV GTI used more oil. I was shocked by how little it used.
