The fact that it's a manual, and the engine/gearbox combo in the S3 has been proved to be very reliable seem to have gotten overlooked.

One WRX owner was looking for a trade + cash my way, but having driven the WRX it doesn't really suit my needs for the reasons you have outlined.

previously had a twin turbo supra, wanted to "be good" for a while, so i bought a manual polo in december. love the polo, but always missed the oomph a twin turbo car provides (overtaking etc) so i always kept an eye out on carsales for a fully loaded golf r (must have a sunroof!) and one came up last week, went and had a look, picked her up yesterday

Good choice, Lucas is right , you just see Silver ones around.. and you will enjoy the ACC drop it into sport and flick the DSG to sport mode as well and it is a go kart

i was actually dead set on dark gray, as the silver ones on carsales looked really dull

i then saw one in person, and thought they dont look so bad

kept my eye out on carsales, saw this one come up with all the options i wanted, had a look, put the deposit down the same day

car is dead stock, and i intend to keep it that way

So looks like mine will be heading to a new owner next Thursday or Saturday. Depending on both of our work commitments.

Got a fair price for it - and much more than the 25k I apparently should have taken.

New toy coming. It won't be a VAG. It won't even be a cherman car. Going for something completely different.
