    • I actually thought it was a throw to the EVO, but then again I see some Lexus in there.. maybe that is the toyota ownership slipping through

      • Took an R with DSG for a test drive on the weekend. The weather was terrible rain, rain and more rain. Kudos to the dealer for letting me go on such a huge run. It was a Saturday afternoon and he took us to all sorts of roads, windy hills, straights etc.

I was blown away by the traction this car has in such wet conditions. Launch control on wet road was brilliant. It took off and just gripped and gripped. Went hard around some corners on wet roads and it was if it was glued to the road. Amazing. I had put a deposit down on a VII GTI but I think that will change now. No amount of diff trickery can make up for AWD!

There is already spy videos of the VII R. Would it be likely to land here in Aus in 2014 or 2015? I've also heard you can't order an R anymore. Whatever is in stock is all that is left. Is that true?

You should try a stage 1 modded version

I almost want to take mine back to stock for a weekend, then back to stage 1. Just to remember the difference and appreciate it more!

^ Thanks Lucas. Already have one (actually two! Long story...)

Am going to reload stock soon to get a before / after dyno result. Stock and Stage 2.

Not sure if this is a good plan or not, but will keep me occupied I guess!

                • Any suggestions for a good service place for a Golf R on the Sunshine Coast. I know Cricks are near Maroochydore but looking for alternatives and if possible, closer to Kawana Waters - have now relocated.

Had a great run from Sydney last week during our relocation. The car averaged 7.5 l/100km cruising at 110-120 kph all the way. Everything going as expected and performing flawlessly.

Thank god we left Sydney, wish we had done it years ago.

On the upside, welcome to QLD and hopefully we can get you out to happy laps (see events section for round 17)

I do that every now and again. Also did it for the dyno run to see the improvement.

Cant help you with service places in QLD but congrats on the move. I don't know how people live in Sydney to begin with - i hate it. New location looks nice a nice spot.

                        • Loving the Sunshine Coast - especially for driving. No traffic congestion, excellent roads, better (and more courteous) drivers.

If anyone comes up with ideas about a service centre (can be non-VW), pm would be great
