Yeah same here, i found putting a set of good tyres improved the ride more, as for turning circle, i never knew is was a problem until people started saying about it, its 10x better than my EVO X MR turning circle so its better from what i came from and generally i can turn around in a street so i've never found it to be a problem. I like the look of the 19" better plus you get the black headlights.

BUT HONESTLY, either way it doesn't matter, still a Golf R and you will still be smiling either way

Forgot about turning circle, whoops. My comments were about the ride quality, and like I said tyre pressures make more difference.

I will put money on nobody being able to pick any difference in a blind test with all other things equal.

    Golf R Observations and Questions

Looks are subjective though, the other points aren't

I prefer the looks of the 18s myself, the 19s just don't suit the flow of the guards

19's look better and fill out the guards more though. So there are pros and cons with both.

Turning circle on the 19's is pretty bad though (reduced steering lock)

I have and turning circle is reduced and ride is harder

    Tyres pricier as well !

18s are better in all aspects

Looks like I may have found my car it's in Victoria though and is a little more money than I would like to spend but it has everything I want other than the acc which I'm not really sold on the benefits over the complexity of the system. It does have 19"s on it so if anyone has any opinions on that it would be greatly appreciated before I start negotiations.

Nope, well they have the capability to make a tune as they have the originals and map locations .......just not the ability to read or write the files yet. I haven't checked recently though as I'm too busy with our 'old' cars and from what I've seen the new ECU is way more complicated than the previous versions, even logging the ECU will show you many more parameters than what we have seen in previous/current models.
Initially I imagine I'll just be using overseas files or rather overseas maps on our files as I just don't have the time to do everything here.
    Some interesting things coming though

Oh here's Jasons beast with the Antilag working at low rpm let me know when you want me to load it up SF, (note:not recommended for use round lake emba or bankesstown)
