My observation of late is if I drop the hammer especially in S mode the amount of smokey exhaust is enough to blind the car behind me. WTF is with the amount of smoke that spews from the exhaust under heavy accelerationCurrent Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

Did VW forget to tell you the R is a diesel?

The R only has one reversing light even though both light assemblies have reversing lenses, today I noticed a sirocco reversing and both lights lit up for reverse? why the differenceMy12 Golf R -DSG, sunroof, vienna leather interior

The second light is actually the rear fog-lamp isn't it?Originally posted by Paulc1964au View PostThe R only has one reversing light even though both light assemblies have reversing lenses, today I noticed a sirocco reversing and both lights lit up for reverse? why the difference

Yep. Some have changed the light and wiring themselves.

Do the turbo's "coke up"?Originally posted by entice View Postmine does it too.. and it's standard.
Maybe PCV blowby?
Seems they store soot when cruising then dump a heap of soot under load.
If it's just the engine running rich under load, I'm happy. Rather that vs a lean AFR mix.MK6 MY10 Golf GTI, 5dr Manual, Carbon Steel, Detroits, Tint

This! All the Japanese cars run super-rich under WOT, but it's less common in the Euros, and rarer still when tuned. Still, short of being a bit down on peak power, there's nothing wrong with running a bit rich. The excess fuel lowers the combustion temps inside the cylinders.Originally posted by Mi16 Man View PostIf it's just the engine running rich under load, I'm happy. My tune is running a slight bit richer than is optimal for peak performance.Originally posted by AdamD View PostThis! But I don't mind that. I'm sometimes in area where I can't guarantee good fuel and would prefer to be a few kw down on power for that sake than anything else.
