Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Golf R Observations and Questions

Yeah... the only people who complain about the R's turning circle are the boys on 19" rims. They're wider than any other Golf rim and I think VW have gone a bit conservative in ensuring that it won't scrape the inside of the wheel well or something. The R's turning circle isn't significantly worse than any other small/medium car I've owned or used... otherwise I wouldn't be able to get out of the tight spot at work where cars like Ford F6E's etc need to do 3 point turns. lolLast edited by Corey_R; 11-08-2011, 07:28 PM.

I have 19s and noticed the turning circle was a bit larger than expected, I am used to it now though. What is this limiter you speak of? I have been thinking of changing to 18" rims (I only got 19s for the black headlights anyway), is there something that needs setting to change this limiter?

Another observation.. if you get the flu and you don't go out for 3 days you suffer withdrawal symptoms, also if your wife drive s you about in an NA vehicle you twitch cause there is no fknwhooosh on gear change

I'm very surprised how quick I have become accustomed to having steering column stalks on different sides. I had a problem with this yesterday however when I needed my wifes car to get some crap. She now has the cleanest windows in history. Just glad she wasn't in the car with me because she would have paid out on me big time. lol
I still fing dsg manual gear changes counter intuitive. Thankfully only once I've grabbed first instead of third. But hey maybe I'm just gettin old and it's harder to teach an old dog new tricks. lolGolf R, Rising Blue, 5 Door, DSG and some extra fruit.
