hey guys well we came to an agreement! the dealership was pretty good with it all! they were going to give me a loan GTI until mine arrived.. however.. i decided I should get the my12 Golf R! it has already arrived and will be at the dealership on tuesday! pending finance which should be sweet.. ended up getting a Candy white 5 door, manual with the 19inch black wheels.. $51.9k even which I thought was reasonable for a non corporate discount. I tried for $51k but I would of ended up in a borrow car until the gti arrived so im happy anyway.. cant wait!nom nom nom

 Folks

I know this question has been asked but I want it specifically about the timing for Brisbane port.

How long have those that are in QLD had to wait from the offloading of the vehicle in Brisbane port to delivery at the dealers.

We have a rather tight timeframe on getting the vehicle and a planned interstate trip.

The ship is almost at Brisbane (will arrive later today). Based on previous posts, we can expect anywhere from 1-4 weeks before pickup at the dealers. Now, 4 weeks will be a real problem for us.

I will be calling the dealer later today but wanted feedback from those in QLD.

Also, what were the thoughts on the status of the car n terms of detailing. Is it done at the port by Patricks or by the dealer for Brisbane offloads ?

Brisbane usually seems to be a bit better than Sydney. Many guys receive their car in less than two business weeks. But the standard expect 3 weeks thing applies so you don't get too disappointed by any delaysOriginally posted by Candyman View PostHow long have those that are in QLD had to wait from the offloading of the vehicle in Brisbane port to delivery at the dealers.

Pretty much just expect that your car is not detailed. Unless you're being silly and paying the detailer their $1000 (or even more) for their usually rubbish protection packages, all they're going to do is shampoo and vacuum the car etc. Have a look in our bodywork/detail forum for suggestions on good products and combinations etc so that you can do it yourself and be sure of what the state isOriginally posted by Candyman View PostAlso, what were the thoughts on the status of the car n terms of detailing. Thanks Corey

I have the detailing side covered. Already have the skills and the products.

Just wondered how well, if at all, Patricks were prepping the vehicles

Fingers crossed that delivery is in days not weeks.8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

 Yep,

This the time where it all goes a bit random. I mean for instance, Corsa and I had a Golf R both on the same boat that arrived on July 21st iat Port Kembla. Mine was at dealers in six days flat, and Corsa still hasn't picked his up (Although I believe he does imminently) two completely different expereinces from the same boat in same port.....

 Go figure!

Finally I picked it up this morning at 10:00am.
It wasn't the best time to pick it up as it was raining. I hate picking up a new car when it rains.
Anyway, everything went smooth and the car was in a perfect order.

I have just finished having the window tint done by Rob. I went with supreme 16% in the front and 35% at the back as Rob recommended and I am happy with the result. Top quality job!!

Like LS said, mine took 4 weeks since the boat arrived on the 21st of July whereas LS got his car in less than a week.
It all depends. Mine was held up at Patricks due to safety harness as far as I was informed. The manager today told me that the delay was due to some sort of anchors that need to be fitted in Australia.MY15 Golf 7 R / Lapiz Blue
