Finally, I got an e-mail from the dealer today regarding the delivery date of my R.
I am picking her up on Friday morning after 4 weeks wait since the ship arrived at the port.

After being told my GTI would be arriving at the docks on the 11/8 .. and it now due to dock 1/9 apparently.. I dont know if I believe this story as I cant see how a car already on a boat can be delayed for nearly 3 weeks? I can understand if it was stuck in customs/compliance etc..but is it possible the ship can just slow down and rock up 3 weeks later? I'm annoyed because i was told the car would be here ready to go by august 24 - i start a job in brisbane in 2 weeks so need a car.. so now im thinking i will have to cancel this order and look for a Golf R or GTI in stock manual 5 door.. seems like there is some in victoria.. I wonder how hard it is for the dealer to get the car from melbourne to qld? just a pain in the ass now because I have already bought euro plates for it expecting it to be here now I could end up in a totally different car. fml!

Well,picked my R today and managed to clock up just over 100k's! Don't know where to start,the car is amazing!
After waiting 5 months for delivery, I have to now admit it was worth the wait and every dollar spent!
The only real negative I can find is getting out of those recaros,not the easiest task.
For all of those waiting for delivery,hang in there....you won't regret it!

hey mate, whilst i was waiting for my GTI, the ship it was on was stuck at one of the ports (forget which one now) for 2 weeks and subsequently delayed by the same time frame.. so yeah its possible lol.

hmm... my thrill completely destroyed this afternoon as the pick up date has now been pushed back to the original date which was Friday.
They can't get my loan contract ready by tomorrow which was approved ages ages ago back in Feb. I just can't understand.

Two more sleeps again after I had one last night.

hey mate, i have asked several times for ship name and vin number and have not being able to get the answer..apparently the dealership i am dealing with cant get access to that information as they have "taken" the car off another dealer and hence dont have any info on vehicle until it docks.. like i said..apparently.

Mine was off another dealer and I have tracked it all the way from Germany

The VIN is all you need and the dealer will be able to get that.

That would have been me. Only 3 R's in town,and all different colours. Dynolink will be the dealer for APR here. The boys from Brisbane will be here this Monday and Tuesday doing tunes.
