Well we went back to the dealer today with abit more of an idea on what we would like. He was busy so gave us the keys to their demo R for 40 minutes while we were waiting

62k Drive away. This is with the fleet discount. Wanting some feedback on if this is a good deal or not?

Exactly how I'd get mine!!! Great choice! Coincidentally it's also how my sister and her husband are planning on getting, except maybe minus sat-nav and sunroof

I didn't read this as SATNAV just upgraded stereo, if the RNS510 means satnavs then the discount jumps to 12% which is very good.. but as it has been pointed out before the more options you get the greater discounts you can get as that is where the leverage is

Thought I'd post my experience ...

I am lucky enough to have one of the first MY 12's to land in Oz.

Impressive turnaround time. The ship docked in Melbourne around lunchtime on Monday. On Thursday morning I received a call to say I could pickup Fri arvo (I actually picked up Sat morning). I was blown away at how quick it made it from the ship, through compliance and to the dealer.

This is my first GTI, although my 4th (6th including my wife) Golf. I moved out of a 2 year old TSI (MY 10) with sports pack, which had served me very well ... and will be a great car for whoever buys it.

I believe the daytime running lights, being the small leds, are a first for the MY 12 as part of the bi-xenon option. They look great, perhaps I thought they were a little wanky at first, but hey I'm happy to be a little wanky

Led globes for the rear number plate look fantastic!

MDI and Bluetooth are now standard and I'm blown away at the Bluetooth setup through the big screen. Audio streaming from my iPhone via Bluetooth is also seamless and almost makes the MDI redundant?

Key design has a slight update, although I'm not sure if this is a MY 12 thing. It is certainly an update from the MY 10.

So far I am loving everything about the GTI, especially the colour (carbon steel) and the 18 inch wheels!

I'm rather jealous. Want to upgrade myself and the MY12 sounds great... unfortunately I've only had my 118TSI MY10 for 14 months and can't justify upgrading yet (ie: my partner won't let me!)

I got an email from AJ at South Yarra VW today saying that my new Golf R will be built in Week 36 (Sep 5>) and should ship 8-10 weeks later. I hope to see the same speed from landing to delivery in Nov when it's slated to arrive.
