It took me exactly 4 weeks to get that, however I understand that it depends on so many variables like the options you've ordered and even the rate that the plant is running at (which according to chatter on here at the moment is taking longer than normal). My dealer also originally told me 6 six months, and look like they will deliver in just over 3 months - there are so many variables that you just need to see what hand you've been dealt (my car is currently in transit off the east coast of the USA - could it be any further from Oz?!)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if your dealer has ordered it then they're probably waiting just like you for confirmation. Best thing you can do now is keep a line of communication open with the dealer.

            • Many congrats, vagman! I am picking up my new golf this Wednesday.

BUT!!!!!!!! my polo which I will trade-in when I pick up my golf has broken down!!!! How unlucky is that. I am not a mechanic and know nothing about moving parts of cars other than steering-wheel, signal indicators, and window buttons, it seems like coils need to be replaced - my car shakes violently and misfiring (replaced one of the coils not long ago though....). Doh!

                        • Hello boys and girls, I've finally got my Golf last Friday!! Simply put: I love it!! The dealer was sorry for the delays (a total of 6 delays ) so they threw in a set of carpets for free, too! It's a white 90TSI so the power is nothing to write home about but the build quality is superb . Handles greatly and everything in the car just clicks so well with each other. I'm looking forward to driving it everyday haha.

Quick question: Do you guys know how to fold the side mirrors in? Or do I need to push them in myself? Also, what are the dangling straps (at the left of the trunk space) for?
                          2010 MK6 Golf 90TSI: DSG, Comfort Pack, Candy White. T-minus 20 hours!!

Thanks, gv-dub. Good news is that the dealer helped me wave the labour and will charge me the cost price for 3 coils - it isn't still cheap though ($292).

Had a chance yet to grab some pics of the front bracket?

You need to push them in yourself. The electrical fold-in mirrors is only available in some overseas markets.
