The first time I saw a car with only one reverse I thought it was so stupid having it on the left side (in reverse-parallel park situations there will be times when traffic won't see the reverse light since it's hidden by a parked car. It's pretty rare to use the rear fog light where I am anyway (that said, has anyone tested the visibility of stock vs LED tails in fog???)


Did anything in that group-buy thread confirm if they are the right ones for us? Presumably since the ones with fog lights are designed to EUR/AUS and not USA they would be the right way around for us, and those in USA who got them would have to fiddle with more wiring, get a new switch, and then end up having them around the wrong way.

Hi All,
This might not be the best thread to start my first post but I just want to thank ozram for his tremendous help in sourcing these RTails from Germany quickly. I placed and paid for the order on 21/10/11 and package arrived on monday 7/11/11. Not bad I'd say. Everything was smooth n easy with installation n coding with vcds was spot on first time!
Again, thank you for the help Ozram and also everyone on this forum for all the knowledge base which couldnt be found elsewhere.
Now if anyone ever needs my assistance in doing this project please feel free to let me know, I'm more than happy to contribute my share.

They will have to stay in the garage for now though as car is still not here yet

No tax. AFAIK any incoming packages under AUD1000 are exempted from taxes. Nice spec'd car you have on order! I wanted CW as well but couldn't be bothered to wait ....

Thanks mate. Saw a Deep Black GTI with Detroits and LED DRL the other day, I must say it looked damn hot! In fact, I think the GTI looks splendid in any colour when optioned with Detroits.

Picked up my LED tails from the post office on Friday. Quick thanks to Ozram.

Just a quick question as I don't have a car to put them on. Do these tails have one or two fogs? Also are the signal lights also LED or normal bulb?

USA version has 2 reverse lights, Europe + Aus should have one reverse (left) and one fog (right).

Just wanted to check - has anyone had any damage occur to their tail lights since installing them?

Reason I ask is that after the recent rains, my rear-left taillight had condensation inside it, which has resulted in part of the white indicator strip (the colouring behind the surface) literally falling off. Looks like there's a darker area along that strip now.

Will post up a picture once home, but I'm trying to work out if it can be repaired, or if I'll eventually need to fork out for a new light!

Am currently thinking it'll need to be replaced - would anyone be able to lend a hand identifying the part number of the outer left light in the darkened tint?
