Oh, I thought you bought the proper HID kit as in headlight assembly, wiring loom, leveller etc. If just a globe replacement is a piece of piss to fit, just need to find somewhere to clip the ballast in safely, swap out globe, connect to loom, done (if not designed for "canbus" you may get globe out errors.
I had the Jaycar H4 ones (with the electromagnet low/high adjuster) in my WRX and the light cut off on low beam was very good (they came with holder that had shield built in, you could see a very good vertical demarcation), was never flashed by incoming cars once, unlike when I tried 80/100W cheapie H4 halogen that didn't go into the lens focus point properly and glared all over the place...
P.s it was lighting, Bluetooth integration, Sat nav integration & cool mfd features that helped me decide to get rid of the ancient rex and get an R...as I knew the HID globes were not legal (giant bug eyes must have shone pretty brightly LOL) and knew that most Euro cars offer HID standard..and it was just so nice to get all these things standard in an R.
