GOLF GTI delivery dates

the VW dealer just contacted me.
told me the car is allocated to week 18 and will be received after 10 weeks.

he said somewhere in March it will be produced? but isn't week18 from 1st of JAN?

that would be APRIL isnt it?
is that how it works?

I believe it is from January 1.

If that is the case, week 18 is April 30 - May 7
Sounds about right considering mine is set for a build date in May as well.

Delivery

There are always cars around you have to find the dealer who has one. If a dealership has a rare car there is no way they will give it to another dealership as they see it as giving away gross profit.

It could also be the other models increasing in popularity and the production of the Amarok.

I doubt it; they are making the 4wd ute in Argentina, a long way from Germany and GTI production....

Hey guys, another few questions, based on a week 10 build as per my previous post, that makes 2nd week of March ,why is it suggested the car will only be here in mid June? Also havent double checked the order, can MDI be fitted by the dealer?

Sounds about right considering mine is set for a build date in May as well.

Not positive, but from when I got my Mk5 the weeks go from the Monday - hence Week 1 is only 1st to 3rd January. This would make week 18 commencing 26th April. Must chase up the dealer on my build week for my Mk6 on order.

I contact my dealer today who looked up my order. I want a 2010 plated car, which I ordered early December. He said it is due to be built week 7 and then said, that starts tomorrow so it should be here in April.
Maybe after Easter and double demerit points grab

I contacted another dealer today to make sure that i wasn't being told porkies from my dealer and they have said that due to the massive increase in demand worldwide the expected delivery for most January orders is late may or june.

My dealer contacted me a few weeks ago indicating that my GTI had been built. When I got the VIN and entered it into the shipment tracking it indicated that the ship had been booked on 5th January, loaded on the 16th and left on 17th. I have been tracking it since and it is now on it's way to Fremantle. It is due to arrive at Port Kembla on 26th Feb. Give another two weeks for customs, detailing etc. I expect to see it second week of March.
