Yep mine is basically the same spec and was 2 grand more and I felt I bargained them pretty hard. I didn't have corporate discount though.

I was really tossing up Xenons and Sat Nav. But Due to other plans I have made for later in the year, I opted to not have them. And I thought that if I REALLY REALLY needed the Sat Nav down the track, I could always add it (although it will cost considerably more).

Oh and yeah, NO Leather, as some people already know, I love those Tartan seats!

I was wanting to thank everyone here for putting up with all the questions and for coreying for his/her advice.

Coolies. Without the accessories, I calculate that to an 11% discount, which is great.

haha yeah I saw that a few days back,

I think the general agreement was if you want to fill the numberplate holder, you need to invest in some Euro Style plates.

Sure is. Lucky for you guys in Victoria, you can get either white or black euro in a size to fill the plate holder - whereas in NSW (and QLD and WA?) black euro only comes in the slim size at the front.

No black euro in WA. We get white, white or white. Which is OK for my car, not so much for others.

I know we sweat over what type of plates to put on...spotted in Chatswood today "Chinaman Pink" style.

I qualified under the corporate discount scheme and this is what I ended up with my GTI.

5 Door, DSG, Deep Black, Sunroof, Leather, Electric Seats, Sat Nav, RVC, Park Assist, 18" Detroits and MDI

No full tank of petrol though

Ended up paying 52K drive away...

Yeah 16.2% - VIC has 5% stamp duty over $57k. Plus there is a $300 LCT. Having the price reduced to under $57k means the stamp duty reverts to VIC's low 2.5% stamp duty and removes the LCT.

But either way, that's a HUGE discount!

Im in the market for a nice GTi, previously had an Astra Turbo.
Now our company has a 'fleet deal' , or corporate pricing with VW.

Went to Burwin VW on the weekend and was told its used to be 10%, then they dropped it 6%, and now its not a percentage at all, rather a fixed figure..

I'm waiting for an email quote for the salesman...does anyone know what the magical corp. discount is? Or is it case by case?

Welcome to the forums Duke996.
Dealer delivery on a GTI is usually $2995. From what others here have said the corporate discount usually drops that to $995 or nothing at all! It is not clear what else the corporate discount entitles you to.

From what we've seen, people have been able to negotiate some significant discounts both with and without corporate discount. Good luck.

I went to both Essendon VW and Barloworld VW. Both said they could offer me a good deal (both dealerships were pleasant to deal with). Essendon VW wanted 54.5K and I was ready to sign. However I decided that I would try at least one more VW Dealership and headed down to Barloworld Glen Waverley. After about 10 minutes they offered 52K and I placed my deposit then and there on the spot.
