Golf GTI Mark VI Specifications and Prices

Guys honestly , the gti 6 is the same price as the golf 5 gti give or take. Why the hell would you then pay $6-7000 grand more especially when it is primarily the same car

Mainly cause the MKV has been around for 5 years and dealers still have stock outstanding, and the MK6 has been around for, oh, two weeks, and dealers have more customers than cars. VW Australia had said that corporate discounts did not apply at this point, and other forum members have confirmed that this was the case with other recently released/refreshed VW models. Also, most dealers said that VW would not allow much discounting on the initial runs and many customers didn't expect it either... as was the situation when the MKV first came out.

In other words... we didn't think the MK6 was any different to the MKV - this happened before when the MKV was first release... this discounting this early IS what is new with the MK6!

Hope that clears up why people are very interested to see the discounts, which dealers are allowing negotiation, and use of the corporate discount

Over in the Who should i deal with? GTi 6 thread, a dealer called David @ Central Coast Volkswagen said they charge $1995. A user called Nath said that McGrath Sutherland VW waived the dealer delivery.
I think that any dealer that is serious about having your business will negotiate on the dealer delivery figure, no matter what it starts at.

Hi Guys, as noted above we charge $1,995 dealer delivery and this is the same for all cars we sell. We would not change this to $3000 just because the car is new on the market and to be frank the dealers that are doing this are being a bit naughty (that is only my personal opinion),

However we can always be talked down a bit and will be happy to to the best we can by anyone.

All up price is $52,000 but have to wait until around April for delivery. I'll be upgrading the alloys when it arrives but haven't decided on what to get, maybe the VW Visions. Any suggestions will be welcome (must be 17x7.5)

Pretty good price. Yes, they're all quoting Mar/Apr deliveries now. I was given feb/mar but insisted it be written down it would not come in April or later. Some form of compensation would be insisted on if it came later than what was said. Are you going to trade the standard wheels in? I was thinking of the same thing but changed my mind at last minute after seeing the 18inch detroits in real life, so decided to keep the look as it was intended....I'm sure they'll scrape sidewalks easily though.

If you get the 18" Detroits, it'll be from the factory, so you won't have anything to trade. But then, it'll only cost you not too much extra. If you get any other wheel, get it after your car purchase, so you don't have to pay stamp duty and possibly some LCT if they bump the price up enough.

The price is drive away. I did the deal at Denlo at Parramatta. I'm getting the std 17" Denver alloys but will swap them when the car arrives (currently thinking about the 17" Vision). The dealer is going to do a wholesale price on the alloys I choose so I will have new 17" Denver's to sell.

Yeah - my two cars were from Denlo. Sometimes they get a bit busy and don't seem to have enough people around to help. But most of the time they're great.

Anyone scored any good deals of late? I've ordered a 5dr candy white gti, dsg, leather, mdi, tint + euro plates for $50,500. Judging by some of the prices on here that's not the best price? That was with corporate discount of $1500.

I still haven't had a delivery date confirmed yet though!

We signed the paper work for ours on saturday. Got a black one with MDI for $45k on road.
