When I bought my Jetta 3 years ago,I was also going to buy from Glen Waverley,but had issues with the salesperson there,who is now at Bayside.
Let the manager know I would NEVER buy a car from them,and was not too concerned...
I also bought from South Yarra,but deal with Camberwell for servicing,etc.
SY said that the wait will be 4 weeks,and the wait was 4 weeks.

I dealt with Michael Cardwell who is now the manager there...

yesh, It was Michael told me to pay $250 more and secure the car delivery in late April or early May. i put my trust on him.

so i was trying to do some research on the net into how often oz gets a delivery of VWs, couldnt really find much but i found one site for a car brokerage firm with a list of tricks the dealers use which may be of interest to some..

A ship is arriving around every 10 days, you can see all the ships that comes to Australia from a few of the tracking websites. The ship stops in many countries along the way and not just Australia and also carries other VAG cars.

There is no way that Australia could go 8 months without a shipment, that would effectively mean the end of all VAG products in the country!

that sounds much more plausible than what i was thinking lol. now im more curious about the whole procedure so ill ask some1 i know that works at autonexus, they handle VWs from the docks to the dealer ..actually the parent company of autonexus (inchcape) also owns some of the dealers.
