How to track the car you have ordered?

It will appear when the car is driven up the ramp onto the boat that it will be transported to Australia on. So VW are "guestimating" that your car will leave on the 9th of September. If their guestimate is correct, you'd see your VIN appear on the 10th here (being that we're so far ahead of Europe in time zone). Just try each morning or night until it appears It can take a few weeks from when you're given it though

For me it was somewhat earlier than this date. As I said, this is a guestimation from VW. The actual time that you can track it, is from the time the car is driven onto the ship, as they're stopped and scanned in at the bottom of the ramp. This may or may not be on or around the date estimated by VW.....

Just been lookig through the WW website and found the schedule for their ships. Looks like my car will be on the Tijuca (which is heading back to Bremerhaven from US east coast) as it's the closest ship to my schedule.

Hey mate. Neither of those but you are close. Means the car has been driven off the ship and is now in compliance. You should be looking at between 9 to 15 business days to delivery.

I placed an order last week for MY12 Golf R. The dealer said the car will arrive sometime in January 2012.

A moment ago, I received a call from VW Customer Care and the guy said he calls every new customer that purchased an R.

He said that the car will go into production on Week 44. I checked calendar, Week 44 is first week of November.

I asked him if the car will be ready for delivery on January 2012, he didn't answer me and tried to dodge the question.

I think I've been conned. I think the car will not arrive until March or April next year. What do you think? Does anyone know how long it would take to make a car to the day when it will be delivered?

3 months should be fine from production to delivery.
Maybe 4 at tops.

Agreed. 3 months from construction is completely reasonable.

I think April 2012 is more realistic. I ordered a GTI in July which will/should arrive in April 2012 (It will be 2012 built and make).

My R that I got about 12 days ago was built June 2011, and was here 15th of August.. and i drove it out of the dealer on the 26th.. so I cant see why you couldnt get your R around January 24th-31st.. obviously things could be slowed down over the christmas period though possibly?
