Mate, u are another lucky buyer for R. mine placed order 23/5 and don't have VIN and even build date to tell yet. Don't know why my order take so long on queue? Have called VWA and get back with no further update as yet. I am start lose my patient. Should I cancel my deal and get back my fully deposit to find another dealer with stock? coz they promise me car can delivery around this Nov/Dec, but i don't think it will happen by now. Some advice pls, guys
i'd be calling your dealer and asking him if they forgot to place your order. I had my BW the saturday after I ordered the car and i got the schedule emailed through about 3 weeks later. I you have no vin or anything yet then has it been placed....hmmm. If you go to another dealer your going to be waiting at least 5months I recon. I'm feeling for you... if it hasn't been placed.
I went to wangara and peeked in the window and saw 1 blue golf there... it must be mine!! Bevan said it was getting to them thursday 20th...
Mate, I got update from my order. I believe they miss sth on my order and told me it won't build untill next Jan and delivery in Apr. I am choose to swap my order to another one just off the production planet and wait for transfer. The only thing i have to gave up is my car is rising blue now, not candywhite and miss the dynaudio but add RVC. But the positive thing is I can get it before end of Jan or even Dec, finger cross for that. I will get the VIN within days.

+1 for car that was on Tortugas. Was a little worried with the Spanish translation for Tortugas = tortoise but nonetheless it has arrived on time. Dealer sent me NADCOM screenshot of it at bond documentation stage today.

Once you've seen it on the tracking site, you can go over to erWin, pay your 4 euro, and do a individual VIN check on the car to get the entire details of it - build details, all the PR codes of the parts used etc...
I don't have week number and only have VIN, but I am happier to hold the VIN in hand over the week number. Track link will be my Favorited site to explore next 2 mths.
Good to hear, mate. Pretty soon you can start the ritual of checking MarineTraffic to see where your ship is at. (And getting angry at them because their AIS system goes down occasionally. )

I've been in contact with them since. Sorted out the dealer authority to register yesterday. No date yet but knowing that it is soon is all I need. Otherwise I won't get any sleep. (Which is probably fine considering the sheer amount of work to do between now and then. )
Also, I'm keen to know what people's experiences have been with regards to VW Finance if anyone would like to comment.
VW Finance. OK. I paid a decent deposit and have a balloon payment after four years. You can get pretty good rates, under 9 percent for sure, but they base the rate around your credit score on their system so individual results may vary.
They take the money every month and you can pay more without penalty. Just watch the get out early clause, mines not too bad.
Oh and you might get an Umbrella.
I nearly went with Stratton, they were excellent to deal with but VW beat their rate on a non commercial loan.
