How to track the car you have ordered?

You'd hope it is still afloat! It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get our cars released and delivered, especially given yours also has a road trip. I notice some posts lately that indicate cars are being delivered within about a week after arriving.....but not getting hopes up.

Yeah, I was originally told my car would be delivered in Mid July, so I'm not going to get too too excited yet.

Mate, I have a dozen photos from 3 webcams. I've been watching the ship since early this AM, refreshing every 100 seconds. Everyone here in the office thinks I should be committed. After 6 1/2 months of waiting for my GTI, and 2 months of catching the bus, I'm tempted to agree.

6 1/2 months....wow long wait. A couple of months is driving me insane, let alone 6+mths! I got lucky - only ordered in April and there was one with the right specs, being built but not allocated, so due here on 29th May. Good luck with the new baby....let us all know how it goes!

Yeah i was the same, ordered early April, built already and on the ship. Received late April

Well I got my VIN Number from the dealer and I can see with the online tracker that my GTI left:

07/05/2010 and is apparently due in at Melbourne on the 16/06/2010!!!! ALOT EARLIER THEN I EVER EXPECTED!

I know the car needs to go through about 2 weeks of getting off the cargo ship, going onto the docks, customers, pre delivery etc etc. But that means my car will be ready by Early July!!!

Or am I getting excited for no reason? how accurate is that date on the website provided on the 1st page anyway?

hi guys, just noticed when I track my car on the WW site it now comes up with delivered from as the status. I though discharged status would be the final stage for tracking on WW. since it is 4days after discharge, what does it mean?

Was curious of the statuses myself - mine moved to Discharged early this morning after the boat docked @ Melbourne. What other statuses will it go through before it enters the black hole of delivery to the dealer? Be nice to know exactly when it is on route to the dealer so I can keep him on his toes

Looking at the Track and Trace for my dad's CC, which was delivered to him in mid April, here are the relevant entries:

DELIVERED FROM PORT KEMBLA 29-03-2010 13:38:00
DISCHARGED PORT KEMBLA 24-03-2010 12:21:13
LINER RELEASE PORT KEMBLA 17-03-2010 07:22:45

So, after the car comes off the ship (Discharged), you just need to wait for "Delivered From", and that's it.

Thanks Adam.. I assume though that "Delivered" means delivered from port to customs rather than to dealer (or any transport co), since it only seems to take 4-5 days rather than the predicted 2 weeks.

Well, I'm not sure about the details. It may be held at the docks in customs, and "Delivered From" signifies it's cleared customs and is ready for compliance? From the docks I assume the car would go to a holding area before distribution to the dealer.

I'm sure one of the more-knowledgeable folk on here could shed light on it.
