How to track the car you have ordered?

Ok well i went to mates house and went to the website which worked, so i think its bigpond stopping me from getting in!

Just a few things if you guys can help me.
On the site it says my car was Discharged at the "Port of Kembla" which i think is Sydney.

My dealer said it is on the ship and will arrive around May, also on the order form under "Extended Information" it has:

Last User (Importer): Susan
Last User (Dealer): Mcarthur

what does that mean? Shouldn't it have my name there? And looks like car has been delivered to Sydney, not Melbourne!

Will have to email my dealer tomorrow to discuss. Kind of worried i have someone elses car?!

Perhaps your dealer has given you the wrong VIN?

I'm not too sure what names should be in the Importer / Dealer bit..
Also, I too am with Bigpond and I also can't access that website either. Rather annoying, to put it nicely...

Well under the Customer Data section (page 2) it has my name as the customer, so not sure.

Is melbourne on your ships itinerary? If not perhaps its being trucked from NSW?

Or you have the wrong VIN...

Bigpond are the worst ISP available... Maybe they're trialling the governments new mandatory ISP filter and WW's site is on the black list because it's German...

On Page one its has JW - Melbourne as the Delivery Port and Barloworld Mascot and the "Previous Dealer"

On page three under the Transport Information it has Sydney as the "Details" and also Compound Sydney (W*)

Ill just call my dealer tomorrow and get it sorted.
Im thinking someone has ordered the car and cancelled the order and i have taken it.

Mate, I wouldn't be too worried about those names(importer,dealer). Mine has names other than mine too. Mine has Importer (Susan) Dealer (Coorey) and I know the manager of my VW last name is Coorey, so the Susan might be someone at VWA.

Arrived Melbourne yesterday.... anyone else got one due for delivery at Barloworld Glen Waverley in around 3 weeks? (Been told the 14th/15th, but salesman said it may be earlier).

Hi Nic, I got mine from Barloworld Glen Waverley too and it was discharged from the boat Tomar on the 23rd, but I haven't received a call from the dealer about my delivery date yet. Did you call them up for your delivery date? Mine should get delivered around the same time as yours

Mine didn't arrive on the boat till the 27th. I've been told by Xen to expect it around the 15th April. You might be receiving it sooner than you think!
(Did you need Barloworld to add any extras, because that might slow it down a bit)

I got a printout from my dealership today in relation to the status of the car apparently there are 27 steps that need to be taken in order for the car to get to you. I have listed them below and a rough indication of the dates for each.

I've post this information on another thread.

I ordered my car on the 28/11/09, the car was build in week 5, it probably left Germany on week 7 and arrived in Melbourne in Week 12 because according to the dealer the car was discharge on the 30/03/2010. Another 2 weeks for customs formalities and 1 week at the dealer for preparation and installation of the bluetooth and tinting. I should be able to pick up my car by week 16. I've waited 5 months for the car but I'm glad the wait is almost over.

Well spoke to me dealer and he confirmed all the stuff i was worried about in the order.
All good, and he got back to me straight away, great service from barloworld Glen Waverley!

Your list seems to leave out the Australian specific steps between 23 to 26/27. Thinks like quarantine, compliance, adding Australian specific requirements like the child restraints, etc etc.
