Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Who are you dealing with there ? Did you like the experience ?
I want to ask them not to put any branding on the car because i have to signwrite it, and don't want to go pulling off plaques with names on them...Currently driving 2014 Jeep Cherokee - looking at the 2017 Tiguan 162TSI Highline (Habanero Orange) !

Dealt with Xen at Barloworld.
Seemed a little disorganised at times and was initially reluctant to discuss prices (other than the RRP), but I am happy with the deal I got after hammering away at him for a while.
I'd done my homework and knew the product, and I wasn't afraid to go elsewhere to get what I wanted. He ended up bending over backwards (so to speak), and there was no problem getting the vin number etc from him either.
I was a little annoyed that he told me there would be no driveaway deals before the end of the year (when they obviously were going to be), but I think I did better than that in the end. I got a good trade in price for my beetle, and a good driveaway price as well.
Hoping to pick up on 25th Jan - he's expecting it to come in on the 23/24th.
Another member suggested going in to have a look over it as soon as it gets there (for scratches or dings made during transport). He said it was easier to say you're not happy then, then once it's registered in your name.
Might see you there!~Nic~

And there were deals on before Dec 31 - I got no onroads/delivery/rego/stamp duty - saved about $3,000 - and what got me to buy...not sure if any other VW dealers had the same thing going.Currently driving 2014 Jeep Cherokee - looking at the 2017 Tiguan 162TSI Highline (Habanero Orange) !

I'm planning on doing the inspection thing too - whack on a trade plate and drive away !

What about you?
I've also asked if i can inspect/drive the vehicle before registration, said it should be no issue. Also asked about stickers not going onto back windows permanently (i'm doing the signwriting there), no issue.
Apparently they supply slimline plates upon delivery...although i'm keener having the personalised plates in standard when I get them - hopefully they won't hang down too far below the car line.
SIDE NOTE:
Checked the VIN on the shipping/transit website nominated on page 1, and it says:
DELIVERED FROM MELBOURNE 14-01-2010 10:55:00
What technically does it mean ? It landed/arrived on 11-1-10, so is delivered the customs/clearance step ?Last edited by bigmouthmedia; 18-01-2010, 10:10 PM.Currently driving 2014 Jeep Cherokee - looking at the 2017 Tiguan 162TSI Highline (Habanero Orange) !
