How to track the car you have ordered?

Bess is also ahead of schedule, due in Freo Today, and Pt Kembla on the 12th. 1 day faster than the last update i had.

I recon it'll be nearly 1 month before i see the R, by the time all the processing has been done.
If i'm really lucky, i could see it before the end of October.

FYI there's an iPhone app called 'Ship Finder' (as opposed to the Ship Tracking app mentioned earlier) and Ship Finder has a free 'lite' version (that only updates twice a day - if you're more obsessive than that when tracking your car then you may need to seek professional help).

Edit - it appears you can't search by ship, just view ships by location, so not as useful.

Hey just wondering if anyone can help with the tracking. I went to my dealer today, and he gave me my VIN number and the car is arriving in Australia (destination) the 17/11/10.

How come it cannot be tracked yet if its coming soon? Maybe I have the wrong VIN? Does anyone else have a schedule of the 17/11/10 arrival? WHat boat is it?

Hey Rexman. I haven't seen any ships which are meant to arrive in Port Kembla on the 17th Nov yet. The closest is the Morning Camilla on the 18th, which is the boat my R is on. I've pm'd you to see what details we can figure out.

Thanks very much for the info. I rang my dealer, he gave me my vin number and bingo!! My Golf R was on BESS and arrived Melbourne on 10th October 2010. So the dealers delivery date of Nov 2 is quite accurate after all.

Hi Darren,

I ordered my R on July 8th. I was told by my dealer that there is a shortage of DSG transmission and those who ordered DSG were delayed till Dec or early next year. I ordered manual transmission so mine is arriving on time.

I too have also ordered my R with manual transmission and my ship arrives in Melb on 7/11/10. My dealer says a few weeks after that I should be behind the wheel. My friend has an R with DSG and its a ripper, but I reckon manual will be a whole lot more fun.....Keep me posted, I'd love to know what's your take on the tranny?

My dealer told ma last tuesday that it would be nearly 8 weeks until we even know what build week that my Golf is scheduled for. Is there anything then that I can follow at this point in time? Or do I have to wait until the Build Week allocation?

That's actually true. You don't receive a confirmed build week for quite some time.
The NADCON ETA Data table populates slowly as time goes on. Hence why some people receive regular "updates" from their dealer. My dealer contacts me once a month to just keep me updated.

Yeah thats fine thats fine. I certainly wasnt implying that I didn't believe the guys, they've been great so far. Just was interested to know if there was anything I could follow at this point in time.

Thats good to know.. hope thats a Denlo service across the board and not just sales rep centric. given I am only into my 3rd week I dont expect to hear anything for some time

Nothing really...placed my order July and until two weeks ago had no information other than commission number..22/09/10
04/10/10 got vin number
