Patrick has offered 12% and will increase to 15% if "internationally recognised targets were met during the life of the three-year enterprise agreement" - I wonder what the recognised targets are - Sounds like more work for more money to me.

Christ - we can't have that, it may involve one less 15 minute smoko break every 30 mins or something .

Just been watching the 7.30 report on ABC. There is talk that the strike may be called off later tonight.

MC is almost through Bass Strait. Due at Port Kembla on Saturday 28 May. I don't think there are any strikes or action at Port K at the moment, hopefully it stays that way. Only Brisbane, Sydney and Freo are striking at moment from what I have read.

Sydney docks are Port Kembla if i'm not mistaken. (moved there in 2008 according to the website)
There of course hasn't been any word that the autocare section has shutdown, just the container shipping. But wharfies have a pretty strong union and I suspect if one section goes, they will all go. (on the wharfs that is)

MC is currently 23 km off the coast of Wollongong and on its way to Port Kembla Harbour, docking at berth 107 at 20:00 hours UTC, in about 1 hour and ten minutes....

Then my GTI will finally be on the ground again after its long voyage.... I might go down and watch it come in, its only 10 mins from me!

Thanks for that mate. Isn't funny how so many of us would like to see the boat come in. If I didn't have to work and was 10mins away like you, I'd be there in a heart beat. Hope your wait for delivery isn't too long.

I went for a drive down to the Port this morning around 8am and the MC was parked at 107 unloading cars. Couldn't see the cars as I was across the harbour at Bluescope.

Anyhow from my records my car was listed as being loaded onto the MC around 8 April and unloading today at Port 28 May. That's about 7 weeks. The longest wait when MC was out of range was between South Hampshire and Durban and then from Durban to Fremantle.

But now I can't believe it has finally arrived and is only 10 minutes away, waiting for customs and compliance, then delivery to me dealer and rego etc.....

BTW what does the dealer need to do from when they recieve the car from the ports??? Rego, clean it up, remove plastic and spring rubbers etc ???

How long does this take? I am expecting my car to be ready for me by 18 June???

Hey JP.....MY CAR ARRIVED 8th May at kembla and it is still not at my dealer. That is 15 working days but have had advice on this forum that anywhere between 15-20 working days is the norm. So I would count on 3 weeks to a month....less than that is a bonus it seems.
I find it amazing that the car was built and delivered to Aus in less than 6 weeks (about 20.000 kms travelled) yet the last 50km from dock to Patricks to dealer takes about 4 weeks.......mmmmmmm...dont add up!!!
The last few weeks of these 8 months have been the longest by far..

Yeah - I am aware of the potential times and I will be happy if I get my car by the end of June....Though my contract states mid June delivery, it is not far of what was originally planned....not bad so far!

The next thing I need to do is get a copy of that delivery checklist to go over the car before I hand over the cheque on the day. I am particularly interested in things like finish and any paint scratches, damage etc....

Getting exciting now... so close... yet so far away... JP
