How to track the car you have ordered?

I'm a bit worried now. I put my personal details in and since I have been back someting weird has happened. All of the fields have been filled out with stuff like 'this **** don't work' and 'don't do this ****'. There are some other words and stuff that I won't repeat. I didn't do this!

The first time I logged on there were some personal details in there but I just assumed they were an example. WTF!? They are putting up peoples details!!!

Nah - it sits near the docks for a while yet, and does compliance, and then sometimes it goes to a company that does the pre-delivery stuff (cleaning and preparing the car) and then to the dealers who will do the cleaning and preparing if they haven't outsourced that, plus any other things which need to occur, like running diags, final checks, registering the car and attaching stickers and plates etc.

I am planning to ask my dealer not to apply any stickers to the car (i.e. dealer stickers) and also to not attach the plates to the car as I plan to put them on myself with the Lakin set. This isn't the right thread.. but has anyone asked the same, and/or had trouble from the dealers with this sort of thing?

Mine is a dealership swap - from Melb to Syd so it will be complied down there and then put on a truck yeh? They wouldn't do pre delivery etc before trucking it would they?

Yeah - it's been discussed in the Number plate thread, but some people have had issues with their dealers, especially a few who claim it's not legal to have a plate secured without screws and that they could lose their license.

My understanding from discussions with dealers is that the car gets delivered to the original dealer and then transfered. This is why it can't just come off boat when it's at your local port rather than getting off in another state. So it will be complianced in the port that it's docks in and then transfered.

I forgot to ask my dealer for this. Now I'm left with their crappy sticker. I'll peel it off some day, but I think it's harder than it sounds. I'll need it off when I get my windows tinted anyway!

cheers Corey. ill be buying myself some double-sided 3M tape in the next couple of weeks! now the wait continues, the Tamesis has been 'off the radar' for the past few days, should be reappearing soon at Baltimore US.

Just FYI, the log in page works for me ok - I used Windows Internet Explorer as instructed

hmm i've tried with both IE and Firefox. i only ever normally use Firefox and it was fine until a couple days ago. IE does go to the next page after putting in the VIN but wont load the ports and current location part. Firefox does load the page to put in the VIN but will do nothing for me once i press 'track' - i.e. the page stays the same.

oh mate dont get me started haha! the boat was first stuck at one port for 2 weeks, so yours is now beating mine even though it left a week or so after mine did! the irony eh? but now i think its well on its way, although its out of range at the moment so u can imagine my mind the last few weeks since its left for our shores

haha i think i remember seeing your post a few pages back that the Toscana is due at Port Kembla on the 29th? of June. The Tamesis was originally due in Melbourne on the 26th, now its out to the 30th June/1st July! Would have been even later but I think they have deleted 3 ports that were part of its original voyage (has 12 stops now, originally had 15).

yea lets hope they haven't sunk lol.
