    • Mrs Jetta hit 100000km yesterday, nice new oil & filters went in today.
Also did a headlight resto, not too bad but could be a bit better.

      • The mrs has wanted to do something to the outside of the jetta for a while so I went and got her a fsi rear lip so she can have it colour coded and get some tips on the exhaust. Next step is the front lip

        • Full service on the fab MKV GTI following 120,000 km mark, including timing belt, transmission, and the usual oil, filters, spark plugs. Had a creaking noise coming from front left passenger side, thought it was related to lower control arm bushes following reading other posts, however, mechanic noted these were relatively new and not the problem. After a further test they replaced the left upper strut mount and Problem has been solved. Very very pleased.....

            • Calipers Refresh

Brake calipers were looking somewhat aged and had faded to a dull pinkish colour, so spruced them up with a fresh respray......look great.

                • I installed my new downpipe today.
Just a cheap ebay unit with 100cel cat.
Thanks Lucas for the gasket and Brian (car_nut) for the o2 spacer, timing on both of these was great.

Install took way longer than expected at 3hrs. Spent about 40min just on turbo bolts.

Done this as well! Yeah Turbo bolts were a pain, i actually snapped one of the bolts off and luckily there was JUST enough thread to screw it back on phewww! Looks quite similar to mine, did you purchase from DEA?

                    • Yep dea.
I noticed some smoke coming out top of bonnet today while stopped at lights. I hope it was just grease and oil burning off the pipe. Will see how it goes on next drive.

                      • Ha ha I got CEL tonight.
Looks like that spacer was not long enough. Might try a spark plug extender thingy too, or just put up with a silly light until I can afford to go see Gavin.

                          • i did the resonator delete and smoked up heaps on the first few high rpm pulls then stopping at the lights, probably wont smoke again now you've burnt everything out the downpipe and cat

                              • I scanned to see what the CEL was about
Not quite the code I was expecting, i thought it would be Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold

I wonder if the spacer on S2 has caused it to not detect any gas so the diff from S1 to S2 is out of range.
I cleared and will see how it goes. Will remove spacer if it keeps coming back.

                                This is what I got.
