Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     Jealousy makes you nasty

    I sat next to my black magic MKV looking at a jagged 40cm white line running along the rear left quarter and onto the rear lights, wondering which rat bastard thought it would be a good idea to take a key to my prized possession.
    It's clear to see that jealousy makes you really f***ing nasty.

    I really hope no one else has to experience this ****.

        Paid $1200+ and collected the Jetta from the local dealer's timing belt / oil change 105k service.

        Waited almost a half hour to put my Jetta through the Shell Coles Express, Pennant Hills.
        ($2 wash special today and Christmas day!)

        Noticed some new scratches on the bootlid, which were not there before.

        Not happy if these are real scratches.

        Just a warning about these supposed 'guaranteed scratch free' washes.
        I had no troubles with the Horrnsby car wash, but I'm unhappy now.

          As I was parking next to my dad's car, I took it a little wide and tapped into his rear right quarter panel. No damage as it was ever so lightly, but I've never seen a Kangoo rock so violently. It was like it was on high seas or something, made me rofl.

            I hand wash the Golf i would not trust a drive-through wash if my life depended on it.

            BTW thats a good price for 105K service about the average

              Alpine Enteraintainment System

              Hi i have just had the guys @ Northfield Moorooka fit the folowing:

              Alpine IVA-502EV head unit
              Alpine PMD-B100E GPS
              Alpine KCE400BTI Bluetooth unit, and
              Ipod/Iphone holder

              I had the guys modif the shelf that the owners manual sits on in the glove box, to hold the gps unit and ipod dock. They also placed a second ipod/iphone dock in the centre consol. I am very happy with the instalation.

                        Alpine System

                        I dont have any pics yet, but i do have a hole in my bank ballance to the tune of $3150.00. i will take some pics an post them in the next couple of days.

                        I'm not entirly sure i happy with the Nav unit it seems a bit light on for features given the price. Time will tell if the nav unit is worth the money.

                        I Choose the alpine package because the nav Unit was an add an could be used as a stand alone unit if needed.

                              Pic Three the glove box with the modified owners manual shelf, which now contains the GPS and ipod Dock.
