installed a catch can after doing the valve clean, hardest part was finding a place to mount it! so i just moved the carbon canister to somewhere useless as it is
Thanks for the tutorial, just installed 2 strips in my Golf. Since it's a hatch and not a sedan like the jetta, I didn't have the convenience of putting it horizontally, so I put a set on each side for some even illumination. Thanks again !
edit: pls excuse my phone's poor night time camera quality, the light spreads out a lot more than in the photo.
Well I went down to the car and the remote would not unlock it. I tried the boot anyway and it opened, so must not have locked after last trip, I usually walk away and just press the lock button expecting it to work.
So I changed the battery, simple enough did the wife's a month back too.
But then the remote would not unlock the car at all, Red led on fob light up, but car did not respond at all.
The other remote worked fine.
Anyways a 2 second google search found that you need to manually lock and unlock with key after replacing the battery - Go figure.

Can you tell me what this product is on your car that I always see in pictures? I'm guessing it's a hose attachment that is sprayed on?
I don't have access to a hose in my tiny city house so have to use the 2 bucket method on the street. Which is why I always look forward to going back home to spend half a day cleaning and waxing, and ,er, catching up with the folks of course.
Been a long time viewer of the forum, finally decided to join when I purchased my Yellow 2008 GTI Golf Pirelli Edition this week. My partner (louis19) and I currently own a 2006 GTI Polo, so this isn't my first experience with a VW.
This afternoon, we finally got the opportunity to give her a good wash and tried out Auto Glym's Rapid Aqua Wax, which brought the shine and colour through nicely.
After driving around in the Polo, I can definitely say the Golf is a whole other world of enjoyment. Absolutely stoked with this purchase and have many plans for the future.
I Hope to get some good advice and ideas off the forum and will continue to look out for fellow Pirelli owners.
