What did you do to your Mk5 today?

Wasn't what I did, but someone else. Travelling westbound on the M5 (NSW) on Tuesday after work and a guy hit my Jetta from behind (I was stationary in traffic) as he wasn't looking ahead and when he realised we had stopped, it was too late. He hit me at approx 60-70kph and pushed me well and truly into the car in front of me. He then did a runner and noone caught his number plate (I was too busy holding my head in pain). So now the cops are investigating and looking for a white subaru with extensive damage to the front of the car. My pride and joy (in the meantime) is being assessed and prob will be written off.

Quick question to everyone! I pulled the spark plugs on my '06 Golf GTI and the plugs need replacing (I haven't started a build thread for my car, it's really not that interesting at the moment). Now, I need to get new plugs, however what do people recommend? So far, there seems to be three types to get: OEM Bosch, NGK BKR7EIX or NGK PFR7B. I just want reliable plugs that everyone else are happy using. Googling has given me different results every time.

Shanrus: My daily M5 commute and the almost daily witnessing of rear-enders was the main reason I bought a dash-cam. I'll be fitting a rear one soon - cheap insurance.

Pollywaffle: I use Denso Iridium Power plugs on my TSI. I get them from the USA off ebay - about $60 for 4. They are a fraction cheaper than NGK and equal quality. It's either an Iridium Power IK22 or IK20 for your car.

Thanks guys appreciate it. Been off work for the last 5 days due to whiplash and severe headaches. M5 office looking over the tapes this weekend to see if they can catch the guy responsible. As for dash cams, I would recommend getting 2, to cover both front and rear. Asmall monetary investment can save a lot of heartache later if in the same predicament I find myself currently in.

Lost my damn wheel nut key last week.
Looked every where so I can only assume I drove off with it still attached to the wheel.
Luckily my local VW dealer has all the keys and has offered to swap the lock nuts out with some spare standards.

Why not get them to order a new lock nut or get them to tell you the number (and partno) & order off eBay (about $40 delivered).

Yeah I was hoping to do that, I have a service this week, so just need to get my Denvers back on.
Won't be ordering through VW though , they apparently can only order a new set including bolts. $$$

Gave her a good blat around Lakeside raceway today!

I'm a bit green as I've only had my GTI for a couple of months, so it was great to find its limits and NOT go over it.

My tyres have held up well and haven't shown any dramatic wear, and used less than 1/4 tank, so was impressed with that!

Got it redone $300 and went with something different...'turbo blue'

I'm keeping the windows up for now until I can get a chance to look at it.
