The GB sounds nicer but that colour's a bitch to keep clean. Personally; I'd go the silver simply because none of those features appeal to me (apart from the sunroof) and it has lower km.2002 Volkswagen Bora V5 - 2007 Mazda 3 GT - 1998 Ford Contour Sport - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T - 2013 Volkswagen Passat 130TDI - 2015 Ford Escape 1.5 - 2016 Subaru WRX - 2018 Volkswagen Golf R Wolfsburg Wagon

I agree, the Silver is so easy to maintain, and always looks good.Does not show scratches and light dirt.GB is a stunning colour, but would drive me crazy......
Of course I am biased, but both sound good.
Test them both, and let us know which one you deceide to go with...

Well it's not "hard" as such, it'd be just like any other dark colour in terms of showing dust and scratches. The grey isn't a miracle worker, but it's miles better than the black I had.Originally posted by DionM View PostBlue Graphite isn't that hard to keep clean!2002 Volkswagen Bora V5 - 2007 Mazda 3 GT - 1998 Ford Contour Sport - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T - 2013 Volkswagen Passat 130TDI - 2015 Ford Escape 1.5 - 2016 Subaru WRX - 2018 Volkswagen Golf R Wolfsburg Wagon

Hi guys,
My friend is looking at a white 2007 Mk V Golf GT 1.4 TSI DSG $21,000 and 60,000km
Carsales Add
It has some hail damage which was not mentioned in the add strangely....
What would be the things to look out for?
service dates? DSG problems? electronics?
Who would be best to look over it in Melbourne?
and whats your opinion on the car?
Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers

Thanks jessv3,Originally posted by jessv3 View PostIts over priced for a hail damaged example.
How much would it be worth then? I presume the owner claimed insurance on it too so he would have got a bit already for that too yea?
Ah thanks Anthony I forgot to do a rego check. Since it is hail damage and not flood or crash damage is the car okay?Originally posted by anthony View PostYes,just checked vicroads...this car was indeed a WRITE OFF.
Stay away.
I've found it hard to find a golf for my friend. Any suggestions as where to find a 2006 or newer golf with low km, leather trim, and under $21k? (vic rego preferred and black to white in colour)

I had my Jetta written off from the hail, and it was absorlurely perfect, and immaculate,so I would say this is probably a very good car, with lots of life in it,but I found it strange that the ad did not mention that it had hail damage,or that it was a wtire off...LOL.

I honestly wouldn't pay anything over 15k for it. Im sure the car is mechanically fine but the biggest problem you will have is with resale, the fact that its a repairable write off will be a huge problem when you want to sell it again. Plus the fact that the owner didnt mention that its damaged or has been wrote off proves he is dishonest and I would walk away from it just based on that.Originally posted by aeidau View PostThanks jessv3,

Ah sorry for interrupting m0nk3y
Hi again guys,
My friend has found another golf he likes but I think the asking price is too high.
Carsales Link
- What would you recommend as an appropriate value?
- And is it a good example if I can get it at the right price?
Thanks

funnily enough... both monkey and aeidau have posted up cars of the same age and within $1.5k of each other.
monkey: GTI w DSG and 67,000 for 25990 seem a very good price. could prob get for 25?
aeidau: 2.0 TDI manual w 108,000 (and leather) for 24,500 seems steep. even without the GTI above for comparison... i would have thought it was priced too high. surely closer to 20k would be fair?Current - MY16 2015 Octavia VRS Wagon 220 tsi DSG Corrida Red, tech, Leather, 18" black
