That's probably the best thing you could've wanted - at least it wasn't in some kind of accident which could question its structual strength.

I wouldn't susepect there'd be anything left owing if it was repossessed.

                      Yes, of course.

Just make very sure that any encumbrance is paid out (see an official receipt from the lender and check again with Vic Roads that it's been removed) before parting with cash.

                      • I just picked up a 2006 Golf GTi with 42,000k's,VIC registered until Feb 2012. White, sunroof, immaculate interior, manual, brand new tyres, APR Stage II re-map + (turbo back APR Exhaust, Carbonio intake) and rear sway bar. Everything immac. And I paid $27,000...

I don't understand why people still ask mid thirties for stock standard Mk5's, they're just not worth that much.

                        • Well It's been almost a year since I started this thread lol! So thought I'd give a quick update. For those who remember me ha, I got an accord euro and have been modding that for the past year. Maca, seen your car at JDMST meets and looks great, will come say hi next time.

I'm still a dubber fan at heart though, and am still thinking of a mk5 gti as a track project.

Quick shot of how my car stands:

                          Things I've done:
                          Koni yellows
                          Eibach pro kit
                          6k HID
                          Mugen front grille
                          Cusco FSB
                          Work XD9 17x8.5 +32 and 17x9.5 +38
                          RE001
                          Injen CAI

Hmm where did that year go?

How much did you pay for the Injen? I would love to get one for my partners 05 DC5 Luxury but have read it can be a bit risky getting water in the engine.

I know right! Flew by. I got the intake used but in great condition and got it for $250 and installed it myself. I personally love it, and the K series respond well to bolt on mods. Love the VTEC roar. Haven't had any problems with water logging, but do find myself conscious of rainy days!
