interesting... i have heard some good stuff and bad stuff about aami, but not being able to choose the choice of repairer is a big question mark for me. In Tasmania, there might be alot less repair places, so the standards are pretty even, but in Sydney there are some really dodgy repair places, and thats the problem with me, just dropping the car off at aami and just let them fix it doesn't sound very good to me...
A few years back a car backed into me in a carpark, called nrma and they fixed everything for me, the very next day i went to nrma to get it inspected, which took 10-15 minutes, after that he said get it repaired with whoever you want, just quote the number. So i took it to the most expensive place and dropped the car off, picked the car up when it was ready, no paper work, no nothing.
Since i'm considering Shannons, i hope they are something similar to that, as it is also choice of repairer, in my mind i think there will be more paperwork as the premium is alot cheaper, but offer the same deal as nrma...
As for aami, their prices are similar to shannons at the moment, but as soon as i turn 25, prices drop more from shannons, and those 3 are the only ones that will insure me or that i'm considering.
So either stick with nrma (which all my other stuff are with) or go to shannons and slowly move all my other cars/bikes across when the date is due.
So i'm seeing if anyone has had a bad experience from shannons or know how their procedure works which might contain some flaws.
