More likely they wouldnt cover you at all. aami and nrma were the only 2 I could find who would cover a 24yr old driving a GTI.

Well they wouldn't cover from an online quote... usually the do cover if you call them. Just like my 135i.

Apart from aami and nrma that would cover online, justcar and bingle does as well at 1520 and 1472 respectively.

when i got my GTI i knew i was going to get an ecu upgrade so just ticked that i had a chip as i was signing up, admittedly it was $50 extra but i thought it was worth the peace of mind, this is with AAMI btw.

well because some of us paid the $3k+ when we were 20!!! don't want to do it all over again!

When i was 18 Nrma agreed to insure my M3, as my family had 5 cars, home and content etc with them. It was over $5k a year!

Ps... if you are 20, did you just get off your Ps?

yeah i wasnt too suprised with the $3200, i think NRMA quotes me $4200. I am in the highest risk catagory so i guess theyve got to cover themselves.

Yeah i got off my P's a couple of months ago. I was offered an AAMI skilled drivers course day that gives me a 10% refund on my insurance this year, and every year until im 25. So i thought i may aswell, booked it in for next month.

Guys I just insured my 2006 GTI with Bingle for $638 after doing a big shop around. I was with Just Car Insurance before but they wanted $200 more and $750 excess plus $400 excess for leather seats... No thanks.

I'm over 30, rating one, and all that, but I'm happy with $638!

a.) They don't support any modifications whatsoever.
                    b.) They are online only.
c.) They don't have a no-claims bonus scheme. Therefore you make one claim and your back to a 0% no claim bonus.
d.) The only Bingle I would insure myself with is:

I'm well aware of this, I've only ever had 1 at-fault accident all my life. A couple hundred bucks a year at this point in time is well worth saving. So if I have the money to mod the car I might have the money to pay someone else twice as much to insure it...

What's their repairers like? Hope they are better than AAMI.

I'm with Shannons and can't speak highly enough of them.

Yep, I would go with Shannons if only they didn't want to charge me through the roof!!!

They only insure 25 and above.

And they were quoting double what i am with now with racv!

what is aami insurance like in terms of claiming?? what are people views on the others?

I've only ever been with NRMA, i have made 2 claims (both not at fault), and i found it extremely good, one phone call and everything was done without me lifting a finger, also choice of repairers.

That is probably why i have paid that a little bit extra over the years.

Terrible nasty repairs... cheapest quote gets the job. Even when not at fault!!

NRMA are like RACV.. good fair insurer and choice of repairer.

Shannons is cheaper than AAMI for my cars.
