if you want one i know of one available here in NZ that is used for 200 NZD i can get it and post it to you if you like

its a MKIV GTI cluster that goes to 260kmh but has the fullsized centre (you need a few wires plugged in to make your radio station display on the display (this will only work with a VW Radio

but you will need VAG tacho and Vag Com to introduce it to your car..

      ie

Glidns car had an imobiliser 2 cluster

      1J0 902 821 A

so i got him a immobiliser 3 cluster which was

      1J0 902 826 A

If the number in red is a 2 it means it has a half height display if the number in red is a 4 it means its is a full height display if it is a 0? or a 1 i think its no display

and the number 6 at the end means its immo3 if it was 1 or 5 it is immo2

      make sense?
anyway to tell which cluster model you have without removing it? its an 03 GTI

03 its more than definatly a Immobiliser 3 car

you can always plug in vag com and log in to channel 17 - Instruments it should have the part master there

oh also it must be a VDO Cluster not Motometer

I believe I have an Immob3 cluster going by my VAGCOM scan...

          Address 17: Instruments
          Controller: 1J5 920 826 A
          Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRSP VDO V13
          Coding: 07724
          Shop #: WSC 00000
          WVWZZZ1JZ3D016500 VWZ7Z0B6138908
          No fault code found.

Can I use Adaption codes to set the Distance-to-Empty feature?

Yes he did. I believe he gave it to Jimmy Mac in return for a nice discount on labour or parts for his car. Jimmy now offers the service as part of his business.

i think a lot of the gti's are motometer dashes where the r32s are usually vdo! argh!

Explain further the differences? I know one of them is a pain in the ass to program with this cluster mods software.

differences on functions, mfd upgrades and not, as well as dte

along with increment spacing is for KM's is slightly different as well.

euro gti's were VDO and wherefor 95% of gti's aus/nz are motometer, meaning example you wanna change from a GTI dash to a R32/Bora Sport/Passat Dash its nearly impossible to find a fascia for it. example, UK the same however they are in MILES wil Kms in background (not useful)

                          those stupid differences etc
