if your golf doesn't have an MFA like mine then't you have the same issues that I'm having, but if your car has an MFA then it'll be fine

There are rumours that if you get the full MFA rather than Half MFA it is compatible with the early Mk4's without MFA.

Nope - no MFA hence why I want the upgrade.

The only really tricky bit is the airbag warning light is activated thru canbus on later cluster.

If you want a fully functioning FIS with the proper car emblem showing which door is open then you also need to swap over the CCM and window motors to the later ones as well.

If you get a Passat cluster you need to swap over the faceplate to the Golf version as they are a different shape.The later Passat with the chrome rings works too but you still need the Golf faceplate but the gauges will look funny as you will see the outline of the round Passat gauges printed on the foil thru the golfs gauge cutout section.

My cruise control light has never lit up; can this be corrected with VAGCOM or is one of these hex cracks required?

I'll add that to the wish list of DTE haha

The light function is controlled by an engine ECU signal via canbus.

The function is programmed into the engine ECU chip.

Its not hardwired directly from the cruise control switch or anything like that.

Maybe the LED itself has blown in the cluster.

If not, then its not in the chip program.

Righto, my guess is it's program related as I'm sure I've read other posts where people have said their light never came on either. Might vary from MY to MY and the different clusters.

yer mine never comes on either, always thought that was strange since you can see the logo for it, but no light. always just thought the bulb was gone, maybe its not after all...

Cruise light does not come on in my GTI, never has.
I don't have the multifunction display thing either.
