If i run adapters would the offset be too aggressive and protrude from guards?
Will I run into rubbing issues with strut if lowered 50mm+
Help is greatly appreciated.
8et30 up front and 9et30 out back should be inside the guards but clear struts and what not, could even go a 225/40 on the back to better match the 215/40 up front
I am starting to consider my options regarding wheels for my Bora 4mo.
I spotted some 18 x 7.5 47 using Dunlop Direzza 215/40/18 for sale and want to know if this is in the realm of possibility for a MK4?
I used this website to check... 1010TIRES.COM - Wheel Offset Calculator
Based on a stock 6.5" wheel width and assuming i am reading it right...
Inner Clearance:
The inside of the wheel to the strut housing: -18mm
Outer Position:
Position of the outside edge of the wheel: +8mm
Will spacers be needed or are these measurements ok as is?
I am currently in the middle of replacing my suspension. Not looking for a ground(or guard) scraping ride at all.
Any other advice would be great

Reason: Ninnja edit for spec correction.
I had 18x8et45 with 225/40 on stock suspension no worries. Lowered it a bit and suddenly no good.
So lowered I'd start to look at spacers, it may just fit though
Hey guys, yet another one of my MK4 wheel questions...
Looking at a set of 5x112, 18x8 et45 wheels (Another member has for sale)
With 20mm adapters, I believe the offset will be et25.
I've followed the fitment website, but just a bit concerned with any rubbing issues with the car being lowered 50mm+ or any poke issues with that offset? Appreciate anyones ideas who have run this in the past?
I had 7.5" et44 wheels with 30mm adapters - no poke if that helps - filled out the guards ok though. They were 17" not 18" so not sure of rubbing sorry. The 17s never rubbed at all.
I should put them up on here when I get a chance actually

Will fill it out as eri said. Should be fine with a 50mm drop, get a 215/40 tyre.
Hey guys just a bit of a question regarding tyre size and profile affecting my speedo.
Im running 17" Denvers on my mk4 with 215/40 on the front and 215/45 on the rear.
I purchased my wheels with these tyres and still have above 80% tread on them.
With this comes error with my speedo and im not 100% sure on what tyres i need to correct this.
My speedo is about 10km's out with an app i have on my phone and im usually sitting on 70km/h with 60km/h traffic. (10km/h slower).
Its rather annoying always having to estimate my speed and was wondering what suggestions you guys have?
If i was to get 215/45's on the front will this fix this issue or only make a small difference?
Cheers

OK!
Whats the general opinion on using adapters to change the stud pattern on a Mk4?
I understand adapters and spacers are possibly dangerous and very illegal so no need to comment on that.
I want some wheels for my Bora and am currently looking at the second hand market but there is not a lot for my car.
How popular is fitting 57.1 VW > BMW/Holden 5x120 or 5x130 Porsche adapters?
I am ssuming most people would probably go for the obvious 5x100 > 5x112 VW conversion but i would like to try a few odd wheels.
No doubt, i will become a wheel whore so i do not mind going through a few sets.

They are illegal in aus, your car will he unroadworthy and insurance may be void if you were involved in an accident . Dangerous can be put down to incorrect use and poor product.
Someone filling a car with fuel is dangerous if done incorrectly, same applies.
Bmw and Holden is 5x120 (unless you go to older makes which can be 4x100 for bmw).
You will need to keep centre bore size, bolt/nut seat type, and bolt/stud length in mind.
Can run anything, 5x112 is more common as it's a oem option.
