yep AHG days are good too, generally only get on the skidpan on weekends, but the track is available on weekday events and is quite good!

Get to do this and more:
Always wondered how you got to do that (thought you did it on the street haha)

AHG Driving Centre, Perth - Check-in.com.au

RAC run defensive driver training and caravan training etc. http://rac.com.au/Motoring/Driving-centre.aspx

MC Motorsport doe the real stuff there http://www.mcmotorsport.com.au/

when I purchased my GT-P, an advanced driver training session was included there, run by John Bowe

AHG sold management rights of the complex to RAC, so it's not run by AHG anymore even though most ppl still call it that.

Was up there last weekend for a mate's birthday who got a V8 hot laps voucher.

You might not need a helmet for the advanced driver training - Camrys on adjustable trolleys - but you do for the skidpan and main track.

That why i was wondering why everyone was calling it the AHG track because i went up there not long ago to do my forklift ticket. Should organize a track day at either midvale or the RAC/AHG tracks sometime

Geoff, when I did my advanced training in the GT-P and on the main track, helmets werent required and I was hitting 195 at the end of the straight. that was 5 yrs ago, so perhaps theyve changed the rules now

Had another good weekend spent on the car

Gave it a good clean inside and out as i hadn't really been in the mood lately to do it. So very clean now.

Tried again to install the front fog lights but ran into trouble again when i realize that Germans do everything differently. So waiting on some special fuse holders to come in to continue that.

Installed the 5th brake light mod. Now no one can claim they didn't see me braking.

                Making the Jumpers

                Jumpers installed.

                Result.

Only problem with it is that when i have the rear fog's on (that i never use) all the brake lights come on. Good for tailgater's but still going to have to be fixed with a simple diode.

Did you swap the globe(s) as well? My single rear fog is much brighter than the brakes it hurts too look at if following behind me! I can use it for an extra reverse light at night haha (Not sure if the fog globe is different or just that circuit has higher output or something than the brakes..)
Looks like you wired up the second side as well or did you already have 2 fogs?

No, But i thought the fogs and the brakes have the same globe well same power usage. I added the second fog light bulb ages ago didn't understand why it didn't have one on the other side (no wiring changed just fitted the bulb haha)

My cluster has the space for the 2nd fog globe but not sure if it's wired in. At least it's not a Mk V or Polo where the R and fog are in the same bay on opposite sides!
They are usually only a single globe on the driver's side of the vehicle, but presumably the cluster is designed to suit LHD and RHD markets to avoid duplicating manufacture of parts. Some other Euro brands seem to have 2 wired in from the factory though...

Spent most of Friday driving around different places trying to find a freaken crimp connector to install the fuse for my fog's. Thing is impossible to find. Good old Germans taking something that should be easy and making it hard.

Over the weekend i removed the lower black plastic bumper, stripped some paint off it, sanded, primed and then painted it to try and bring back the front end of my car.

Before, Notice the scrape marks on the underside. This sits about 10mm above the oil sump and i can tell you the oil sump looks worse

During paint stripping, Quite funny as you would scrape off some black paint to find silver, then scrape the silver off and it would go black again.

                        Before priming

And first coat of primer down:

Didn't get time to finish all of the final coats down but looks a lot better. All though i do believe its going to have to be replaced soon.

Also went out and did some photo shoots for a small forum sig. Taken with a crappy iphone but mainly to just get some ideas. I know what i really want but will have to wait till next weekend.

It turned into a typical 5min drive on a VW with the shifter screw undoing itself along the way and freaking me out!

                          My fav 3

I'm unsure on which one i like best so if anyone would like to give there opinion heres the album

So this is what the front end looks like after the lower bumper respray. It makes the Grilles look a bit odd because now they are all cruddy and not new

So yeah finally found some of the clips i needed for my fog light install on the friday when i got her back from the doctor (she is still sick as well ). Basically i tried to do the most stealthiest install i could do i.e OEM. I think i did a pretty good job of that but it was a pain in the ass to do it haha.

                            Wiring in the grille

No visible wiring in the engine bay (blue wire hidden afterwards)

                            lights Installed not ready yet

To connect up the fog light relay to the switch i had to run a wire into the dash. This is a pain in the ass as i couldn't find a nice grommet and i also wanted to do this stealthily. So i decided that i would run it up underneath the rain tray, also installing the ground up there in a OEM spot. Turns out there is a lot of **** underneath a rain tray. So whilst it was off gave it a clean and a vacuum.

                            Wipers and rain tray off

                            Rain tray before

                              Ground installed

Wiper assembly removed to get access (pain in the ass)

Blue wire installed (not the prettiest but it was a serious pain in the ass to do any better and time was running out fast)

                              Rain tray cleaned up

                              CLEAN!

                              And fog lights working

They seem almost like a dimmer headlight, Throws light in all directions so definitely only used when no ones around (very likely at 1 in the morning)

                                looks good mate.
I like the lack of visible wires. Iv got two sets running (one to 4mo headlights as i didnt have fogs before and the other to my old lower lights like yours) and there is wires going everywhere!
I found i gromet infront of the passengers footwell.
Did you reseal/glue the rain tray back to the window...?
