    • Filled up today and fuel consumption is down to 7.9l/100km, the best in at least 6 months.

I have noticed the fuel smell in the exhaust has gone, the idle is smoother, it revs a bit higher for 2 mins when cold, and high rev power has returned.

Is this an indicator that cleaning the O2 sensor has made a difference ?
It was only 1/2 a tank since cleaning, maybe next week's fill up will tell a different tale.

      • car gave me a bit of a fright last night. some wanker in a ford territory thought he could seek by me at a set of lights... he was wrong but at the next set of lights my car started sputtering and hunting rev at idle not healthy at all! so after a half hour of checking boost hoses and not fi Di g a leak i was stressing out thinking my turbo may be effed. turns out it was the same hose i replaced a couple of weeks ago, the hose i got from supercheap had split in two. so i dodged up a fix and now she's all sweet again gotta order a genuine part asap, anyone know a dealer open on Saturday?

Highway in Springwood is open until 1130 IIRC.

          • Fixed a knocking in geoff suspension which turned out to be a loose subframe bolt.. and then my car got jealous at all the attention I've being giving geoffs and decided to start the indicator ticking...again! and to blow the thermo fuse so it nearly overheated through the drive through.

Oh well i showed her some love by cleaning the inside of the wheels and checking everything ok. Interesting thing is all the rubber on the inside of my front rim. Definitely being hitting the coil over....

They were the originals, I bought an ECS Stage 2 refresh kit which came with solids.

Quality workmanship by all I mean, control arms are supposed to clunk around aren't they? Helps the car turn better n sh*t!

Also realised during the arvo that I'd left my parkers on, on account of the damn door switch not triggering the warning chime lol.

                • Finally Resprayed my callipers black down the scratch to try and match them a bit better.
                  Before:

                  After:

Also did an oil changed which took about 5 mins thanks to the drain valve i installed. Damn is it nice to just reach under flick the valve and its comes out in a nice stream not everywhere. Too bad my car vomited when i took the oil filter out.... Bit consering when its black after only 3-4000kms. Oh well it was a flush anyway.

PS pro tip, If you have doubts about whether or not you tightened the wheel nuts, RE tighten them! i found out the ah, interesting way.

Oh and to add to the interesting i think i have split my r32 control arm bushings...

I haven't given it a really good flogging as yet, (as I'm close to the wear indicators on my tyres) but initial observations are it has tightened up the rear quite a lot - feels very solid and connected - less flex through corners ... The real revelation so far is the Eibach springs with the Koni FSD shocks - so smooth. Really looking forward to putting the fronts in now and getting some new tyres.
