Yeah, they are royally expensive. But have been known to do good work. And also have the most awkward and annoying radio ads on radio too

    • Heya!

      • I believe you can get high output bulbs to replace the single reverse light or you could wire up the rear fog light to be used as a secondary reverse light.

Yeah, ended up being $180, which is a LOT higher than the $66 I was hoping to pay, but I feel better knowing the level of work they went to. I did get a slow leak puncture repaired ~$38, and about another ~$40 for a balance and rotate of all 4 wheels, that leaves about $100 for the actual wheel balance, which I think included re-aligning the subframe. So, all in all, I feel I paid a high cost, but for a high quality service. Next step: Blue Slip, and then taking that to the RTA to tell them that I now have a 1.8T GTI engine.. Then telling the insurance company..

especially as the mk4's are only adjustable in the front.
hope all is well with it. good luck with the rta and insurance. (just renewed mine with nrma for a grand total of $411 for full comp - awesome!)

Some Audis have a special halogen bulb in the reverse light to make them brighter than a normal bulb.

They may have a different mounting base though.

I'm sure the job was done well they are a little pricey but in the end you know it was done properly. I've seen a lot of quality vehicles pass through there it shows they do a decent job.

Yeah, a bit stung in the wallet, but feel confident in it now. I also DID get a puncture repair, AND a 4 wheel balance, which I wouldn't have gotten if I had much confidence in the original balance (from St.George Tyres). Good to start off at a new place doing everything they wanted, start afresh!!

Damn! that's a good full comp price!

Wow and they know about the mods too ?
NRMA quoted me $798.66 with huge $800 excess, that's the basic without mods.

I'm with 'BINGLE' underwritten by AAMI. Cost me $580 this past year for the 1.6L for full comp. I'll look at the GTI price now...
