For those that are still unsure go out and put your brakes on and go and stare at them and then try with your fog light if you have one.

If you're silly enough to be staring directly at someones brake lights it's not going to matter if there's 1, 3, 5 or 100 lights, they're going to dazzle you.

Night time brake and fog lights.

I'm sure there will be those who are still unconvinced but I think the photos speak for themselves.

    LMAO!

well that's good that it's apparantly a red light that comes out of the R32 and no a white light like on the other models, but it's still approximately twice the light = twice the inensity. i've only ever been bothered by the brake lights of one car which i was behind at the lights once. it's was either a new car with just really powerful brake lights, or someone who had done a simillar thing to you. it really did blind me and i had to stop way back so that it wasn't so intense.

i forgot to count the top brake light, so its good that it's symmetric, if it doesn't bother drivers, then i'd say it looks good.

i agree about the importance of being seen on the road, but there's a line. for example if a cars lights stick out too much, even if they may not be particualrly bright, they can still be very distracting. i'm very against some lights on the very high end cars where the colour of the light changes depending on the angle the car is approaching you at, with green, blue, purle, white, orange tinges flickering all over the shop. i hate that. but cars who drive with their driving lights on in clear conditions in traffic (i.e. lights that arn't pointed down), they get to enjoy a good spray of my high beams (as long as no other innocent cars are close to them)

Parking lights and headlights during the day is also fine by me. Being seen by other motorists is a good thing. Even if the majority of people seem to drive with their eyes close anyway.
      Cheers,
      Trent
Not many i know angle them down, and even if they do, they normally running chopped or lowered rears so you get you eyes burnt out either way.
I completely agree with the being seen bit. and 'lol' to the eyes closed, so true.

On a separate note, just ordered some floor mats for my car, there not genuine, but have a vw logo and have the option or round or oval lugs/clips depending on your model. Will post some details if they seem good and fit well.

Also got my insurance changed to allow for my coil overs etc, at no extra cost! Now just have to get them on the car...

I get annoyed of all these corolla/jazz/camry drivers with xenon bulbs in their standard headlights. can't see a damn thing when they drive past. and if they are behind you its just overkill!

A lot of these are Xenon bulbs (HID-look-alike, with filaments, not HIDs) with inappropriately selected colour output and badly adjusted.

Unfortunately though there are a few who do put HID retrofits into reflectors, and they are terrible...
                  Nothing to see here...

                  • pricing up some tyres atm - what's everyone running? I've been told the Kumho KU31 is good bang for buck and are quiet for the whole life of the tyre, whereas Bridgestone Adrenalins can get a little noisy. Any other options?

Also starting to get prices on suspension with the aim of a 30-40mm drop, but I'm kinda hanging out to see pics of Dub_Star_V6 once he gets his done so I can see what it looks like - hurry up dude! lol

Pirelli P-Zero Neros here. Will be changing to straight P-Zeros once these ones are done. Don't know what your budget is but these have been a great tyre for me.

I've got KU31s i think? on my 18" A8s, there Kumhos anyways. Compared to my mates "good quality" tyres on his saab, i don't think they go to bad, don't have much to compare to but i would defiantly look at them again.

                          • As Trent said, +1 for PZero Nero. Great so far, beautiful ride and grip, super quiet too. Those interested can read all about my wheel & tyre upgrade antics here.

Pierre, I hear the downside to the Toyo's being super sticky is that they don't last so long (because they're so soft.) Can you confirm?

they've lasted me longer then p-zeros.. defintely one of the better tyres ive used over the years.. (and i was going through a set a month when i had a rwd lol) depends how you drive, me... everywhere is a racetrack unfortunately!

you will find michelin, pirelli and toyo's all very soft unfortunately.. but the handling/performance is crazy
