Was driving to work yesterday when I was cut off and had to brake very firmly. My (sealed) snack tub of yoghurt went flying from the passenger seat and spilt open on a floor mat.
Car got wash/waxed/vacced today. Looks soo much better.
P.S
I seem to have blown my left main headlight bulb.
Should I replace the right bulb at the same time? (in case they look weird)

If you haven't done a headlight bulb replacement on the Mk4 before, you're in for some... fun!Nothing to see here...

I hope I can do it.
Had a big car chat with the missus last night. I had planned to chip and drop "our" car (I had it before we married) this year but we've decided to keep it stock instead and save some cash to put towards the next VW.
My dad's metallic black 2.0T Jetta is off lease in October, and the payout is about $16,500. The car has 18 inch wheels, leather, DSG, ESP, parking sensors etc etc and will have <90,000kms at swap time. We think it's an excellent machine for the money, especially considering similar cars are selling for $25-$30k.
Pic of my car with his:
I have no idea what mine will sell for. It's a 2001 model in pretty good condition, unmodified, and will have about 110,000 kms on it when we let it go. Cars like this are advertised anywhere between $12k and $17k at the moment.
If we got $16k for it, the idea of a cheap swap to an 07 Jetta with GTI running gear sounds too good to be true.
It probably is, hence saving>mods.

she's lying to you mr. messy, don't believe her.
she's toying with your mind.
she's effectively stopped you spending now, and when the savings account is suitably engorged, she will change her mind, not buy the new VW, and go out and buy something else instead!! - who know what, maybe even some cushions!!!!

looks like it was a screw.
fixed it in the sun during lunch break hot n sweaty in the sun in suit pants, not fun, then realised i left the security lug in the wheel so it's now lost... FARRRRK!
I hope VW don't charge too much for them...Last edited by McDub; 27-01-2010, 05:42 PM.
