Looks great, what do the LEDs do?
How far in do the mirrors fold in?
Saw your video on youtube, unreal mate. And to have the partner with you must be nice.
I would like to go to tassie to drive. A to do on my list of things to do in this lifetime.
anyway, a few weeks ago. I know it always tilts onto three wheels, but this is the first time; caught on camera!
LED footlights are out of new Passat etc. They just light up when you open the door (like the interior light). But they will also light up if the interior light is switched off. So you will always get light in the footwell if the door is open. I also have a separate switch to turn them on whenever I like. They are all powered by the Comfort Control Module so even if you leave them on accidently they will switch off after a certain time (should be 1 hour like the boot light)
The puddle lights under the mirror light up when you unlock the car and also when you open door. Same circuit as the interior light/alarm system.
Mirrors dont fold completely flat against the body - just the same as the manual mirrors.

I thought it was, jsut that you posted on vortex, so I thought you had a different username.
graeme, you beat me to it! have been meaning to do those puddle lights for a while now but been such a slacker!
love it tho .. looks good!
i need things to do or ill get bored with the car and ill get rid of it to quickly lol.
for me, my only update is minor.. lsd installed and my god can you tell a difference, most especially throughout corners does it pull in and out much smoother and power gets to the ground a lot better.. thanks to Seb for organising that box for me..
there were no signs of failure. first to second was a bit crunchy since i bought it last april (~17k kms ago) but it wasn't bad. then on thursday was coming back and as the wheels touched the driveway heard a sound (similar to a stick hitting the body of the car). clutch in - first and second felt like there was nothing there, clutch out in neutral - still in gear (i think second or third). linkages are fine but stuck, don't think there is a problem with the shift box either, clutch works fine - that leaves the gearbox itself.
the car is getting towed to matt's tonight, so might know what the problem is tomorrow. however it seems that all the plans i had for the car are not going to happen, as i need to change the timing chain and maybe the clutch at the same time...and then pay my parents back over the next decade
soooo 02Ms aren't that strong after all...or its just my luck. for the record the car has done 186k
Crappy Monza Plumb back BOV that came on the car was replaced with a Baileys Diverter valve. Boost jumped from 8 PSI to 12 PSI. Also fixed the hoses where it had been plumbed back wrong. Boost jumped from 12 PSI to 16 PSI. Driving much better now.
Now for the clutch :S

yevvy, ouch! i have a new 5 speed spare .. lol sorta!
Just got wheel alignment.. gonna wind down pressure a bit and see how much i get out of a tank this week!
i wonder if that's my problem. my gear changes are inconsistantly rough.
often feels like i'm shearing past metal corners as i put into gears.
and when stopped at first, someones it basically it just won't go in at all, and to fix that, i just release the clutch a bit, and in she goes.
and sometimes when changing gears while going over bumpy road, i can hear what sounds like the shift fork rattling as it tries to do what it does, not sure hard to explain.
so any ideas? i also more often than not need to baby the first 3 gears
if that is the problem, i wonder how much it'd cost. i've had my clutch replaced recently so am annoyed it wasn't looked at, even though i asked it to be looked at...
