Mine's had a lot of maintenance and work to get it where it is. I have spent a lot of money, but it's my hobby and I do it all myself which makes things cheaper.Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Paint correction/protection specialist. PM me

Righto, another update!
More progress today, mainly prepwork.
-more hi-fill areas wetsanded
-side strips, front and rear bumper strips all sanded and scotch-brited ready for hi-fill tomorrow
-front and rear bottom bumper strips sanded and scotch-brited ready for black paint (and eventually clear) tomorrow
-boot channel, beaver panel and behind the headlights cleaned to the shizz!
-little bit of sanding and line-work on the hatch, but we had hardly any bog so that's still a work in progress
-prepping the badgeless for hi-fill tomorrow
If I can remember anything else I'll write it down
Here's a pic of the cleanest rear end in town...hahaha...
I've got the day off tomorrow and possibly also Thursday, so expect lots more soon!Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Paint correction/protection specialist. PM me

Haha cheers guys.
Hopefully we'll have all my textured bumpers/grille painted and the rest of the hi-fill areas wetsanded tomorrow! I'm hoping my mate can finish hi-filling my door and finish my hatch too. Fingers crossed.Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Paint correction/protection specialist. PM me

So I rang around for some quotes today to get the glass taken out and re-fitted after spraying the car...
O'Briens comes in at a whopping $770.
A local company who don't offer insurance on breaking of glass came to $560
Another local company (which I forgot to ask about insurance with) quoted $340
Obviously O'Briens will do the job perfectly and offer a lifetime guarantee and everything, but I'm just trying to think about justifying that sort of money. Is window removal/replacement something that someone could possibly do themselves, at least for some of the fixed windows on my car?Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Scratch all the above, I've got a quote off a very friendly bloke who sounded knowledgeable and assured me anything he cracked when removing wouldn't be an expensive thing to replace (contrary to previous beliefs because of O'Briens pricing!). I'll get the windows taken out and put back in whenever I'm ready for $240 as well, cheaper than anything I got earlier! Win.Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Much more progress to update:
The windows came out today! The front windscreen did end up cracking, so I'll need a new one. The poor guy dropped the rear one too, haha..so I'll be getting a new one of those with tint when it needs re-installing as well. Total price for everything is $300 which I am still smiling about, very happy with these guys so if anyone needs any window stuff done, call Russ or David at AceWindscreens!
Seeing as all the windows are out, I went all the way and took the window seals and door seals out too. They're all cleaned out, all of the surface rust that was there is sanded away, and they're ready for paint. The ''interior'' parts of the car to be sprayed are basically ready to go now!
The hi-fill on the car already is all wetsanded, and I'm currently waiting on my friend to finish spraying hi-fill on the rear right door, one small patch on the front left door, and on two new dents we've found on the bonnet.
The bonnet got wetsanded tonight too (before we found the dents...doh) - 800wet, then 1200wet, then scotch-brite wet.
Unfortunately the plastics aren't sprayed, because my mate hasn't had the time. He may do it tonight, otherwise the weekend.
What's left before it's ready? Not much!
-Repair and hi-fill the hatch, 400wet over the hatch
-Hi-fill doors and bonnet, 400wet over them
-Spray plastics, 400wet
-800wet whole car
-1200wet whole car
-scotch-brite wet whole car
Provided I can work on it over the long weekend and my mate can finish up the repairs for me, it will be ready for paint come Monday.
Ps..pics of today are uploading!Mrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. Paint correction/protection specialist. PM me
