  • HEUSTON, WE HAVE PAINT!

Bought a compressor this morning and some paint and stuff and I've just finished spraying everything up

Bit of bad news though, the hatch wasn't perfect lol....I think I'll have to ask the panelbeater to finish it for me because I'm obviously not experienced enough. Here's a quick pic:

            • Sorry for the late reply Mickey, but looks like you sorted yourself out with the air compressor! For what it's worth, I can't see the imperfection in the pic, but I guess if you're doing it right, then you'll want to do it properly! Good **** for being motivated though

                • Still looks like you did a damn good job, but the professionals will usually do it better.
Pretty crazy line to get right I suppose.

                        Thanks lads
Yeah, it's a straight line that stretches a metre over a very slightly curved surface..so it is really hard to get it perfect. I'd probably be happy with it if I painted over it, but it would always linger in my mind about getting it PERFECT - which is what the panel beater will be able to do for a few hours of labour.

What Jay said ^^^^ - I've got a solenoid! And the switchblade I ordered from rightclick has a boot popper button yay

Just FYI - the solenoid is just a metal solenoid from jaycar that came in a trunk opener kit. I used the same metal bracket that held the rear wiper assembly in place to mount the solenoid on - I just heated it up and twisted it a bit for clearance, etc etc.
