Seriously, I would buy your VR6 if I did not have the Vento. We need an auto for the the father-in-law as his daily (his knees are giving him trouble with working a clutch) so the Vento will fulfil this need once we get it back on the road. Unfortunately, the wife would probably have me sleeping in the Caddy if I bought another car and I need to quit while I am ahead (I think I have sweet talked her into letting me keep and slowly restore my CL with the plan to get it registered as a vintage car in 11 years time).1997 Golf CL, 2011 Caddy Life TDI, 2007 Golf TDI, 1996 Vento GL (red), 2008 Skoda Octavia TDI

Stefio, if your car was available when I was looking for my mother in law, I would have flown down to buy it. Have probably spent more than your asking price fixing it up!

My CL and Vento today. Vento just got new brake lines, brake fluid bleed and replacement, and a full radiator coolant bleed and replacement with G12. Unfortunately, the power steering fluid leak we have found is coming from power steering rack, so the guys at CVWC are trying to source me a replacement rack or organise a rebuild. Once that gets fixed then the Vento should almost be ready for its RWC inspection.

Yeah, the photo a bit flattering to the condition of both cars. My father-in-law is driving my CL as his daily at the moment until we get the Vento on the road. He has done a great job of washing it and clearing off all the flaking clearcoat so it actually looks ok from a distance. The Vento's paintwork is in ok condition, needs a proper wash, polish and wax. There is a dent on the centre front of the bonnet that you might just be able to see if you look closely. I will need to save up some money to have it fixed but I have managed to pick up a car bra from ebay to hide it until I can afford the fix. The front bumper needs a touch up on the drivers corner where the previous owner has kissed a wall or another car.1997 Golf CL, 2011 Caddy Life TDI, 2007 Golf TDI, 1996 Vento GL (red), 2008 Skoda Octavia TDI

VR sold pending payment. Guy has another Golf with the A59 bonnet.
Just like this one http://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/25718/A59_3-L.jpg
Hopefully we'll see my car around somewhere.
He plans on auto->manual conversion.
Might get a VW in the future again. We'll see.Past - '95 VW Golf MK3 VR6

Um, how does the boot light work?
Globe seems fine but swapped it with one from the 2 door and still no luck.
I can't even see the switch for it or how it knows the hatch is open. Maybe a fuse? Yet interior light works with doors open.
Thanks!
