How do I disconnect the brake wear indicator? I've joined the wires together before the plugs and the light is still on.
Can I just remove the bulb from the instrument cluster?
When the rear brakes go back in and the system is bleeded I will finally be done and ready to rego and hand the keys to my mother in law.

Roadworthy inspector might notice the joined wires or the extra resistor, much less likely to notice that the bulb in the instrument cluster is missing1997 Golf CL, 2011 Caddy Life TDI, 2007 Golf TDI, 1996 Vento GL (red), 2008 Skoda Octavia TDI

Ok cool. Now has new discs and pads just want the light gone as it indicates an issue that the car doesn't have. Thanks heyden and feenix.

Also wanted to turn it off with VAGCOM. Found instructions for a mk4 but not a mk3 so I tried the Mk4 instructions and it didn't work. So guess I have no choice but to pull the bulb.

anyone achieved more brake clearance on a VR than the stock 288mm calipers? Looking at a few different setups to open up more options with some of my low brake clearance wheels
